Orions 2

Actually, it was scheduled for November 2010, but then some jesters came up with the multiplayer idea...

 

I visit and revisit this thread every day...

 

You don't need to. Chillingo will go for a thursday release.
It's not in NZ today so I guess we'll wait another week maybe.
If it won't show up today, that is.
Also, they haven't taken promotional actions yet. Unusual for them.

 

They didn't promote O1 at all, did they?

 

I don't even remember but they'd be absolutely nuts not to promote this, unless they're simply brain dead, of course. Given Shadow Era now has over 500,000 users, why wouldn't they? [DO NOT ANSWER - THEY MAY INDEED, BE BRAIN DEAD]

If you bought O1, you were completely on your own. You weren't going to be seeing or hearing from the developer ever.

 

Actually, that's not quite true. I wrote Pavel way back in December '08 about two matters, one of which was the phantom cast bug. He answered the other matter promptly and said he would try and fix the phantom bug. Given it took weeks of beta testing O2 to finally pin down why and how the damn bug was occurring, I'm not at all surprised it wasn't repaired for O:LoW.

 

Yes, I got an email from some underling or minion who said they do not respond to inquiries about release dates. Yay.

Orions 2 never gonna see daylight, I'm skeptical .. It could have been just a way to make fresh advert for Orions 1.. After all..

 

They're just toying with us as they watch the sales for Orions 1 come pouring in, lol. So cruel!!!

I suppose I could d/l a WinMo emulator, but, I'm going through an Ipod 'phase'. By phase I mean total and complete obsession with any and all things related to Ipod gaming. Usually these phases are only a cpl of weeks, but, this one is going on a few months now, I'm starting to get scared.

That is why I need Orions 2! If i'm stuck in this phase perpetually, it won't actually be so bad if I have a game I can play forever! It's possible this might be some version of hell, but, I'm not sure yet.

I should just go and buy Orions 1, then within 24 hours the sequel will be released. That is the way of things.

I wonder if maybe Chillingo is thinking 'Shadow Era' is just too popular right now, so we'll wait until nobody plays that anymore before we release Orions 2. So if that is right, then we'll never get it and I have in fact died and gone to hell. Simply Terrifying!

P.S. I should get the prize for most melodramatic post!

I think you should buy Orions 1 for two reasons. First, it's a fantastic game that you're going to play the hell out of and it will tide you over until O2 comes out.

And second...if you buy it, O2 will come out within 24 hours.

"soon" is a very elastic term.

 

"they are coming soon" plural, the guys response is not aboutvorions but in general

 

I guess the release could take another while when they didn't even have a rough time scale fir their next releases. Or they just won't tell us.

You guys should ask why there is no support for orions (ie not in their upcoming section, no advertising elsewhere etc) instead of a release date

Orions 1 just received an update, hope this means we are close to the release of #2
