I'm the player with 57 life and the Chimera. amn624 is the other player.

Somehow he turned the game around and won. Talk about a nail-bitter.

I cannot wait to play with you guys. Spread the word, this is gonna be the BEST multiplayer game in the AppStore. Even non-TCG nerds will be able to have fun with this, the game is really intuitive.

Edit: Did I seriously write "APPLE STORE" instead of AppStore? Me, someone who's been an AppStore junkie since day one? I think I need some sleep, HAHA!

Re Async and other network goodies

Typical duels take maybe 10 minutes? I don't understand why that needs async. So, what would you do, have a few async duels going on and come back to them once a day or whenever to make your next move?

And just how are you going to remember exactly what cards your opponent has in his deck? I don't get it. My vote (not that it counts) is bring the game out as soon as possible and if async can be implemented later, then fine. For right now, it's not necessary. Izzy and I just had two great great matches and I don't either of us was ready to end either one with a "gotta go, save it and we'll come back to it later." Meh.

I already mentioned a chat box to the beta group but I don't think any of us has a clue how it can be managed or implemented. So far, we've been playing with Skype next to us, so that has been our chat and it works great.

What will really really rock is when the constructed deck mode is included. I cannot wait.

It might not be entirely relevant for everybody, but I have a lot of friends abroad whom I'd be playing Orions with more frequently than my local friends. In these situations, async would be a better option than real time, since we aren't online at the same time very often.

Plus, async works great for people with conflicting schedules too. But MP Orions is too great for me to be nitpicking.

    point well taken

Understood. Meanwhile, I have been playing with guys 3 hours behind me, and 5 and 8 hours ahead of me. But you do absolutely have a point. And I wouldn't mind at all. But the only way this would be possible for me is a catalogue of ALL cards cast during the duel. So far, all you can see is the last card cast and the attack.

I really don't want to be in the position of trying to remember, does he have a Centaur when there's a free slot and I'm down to 5 life? Actually, Meneisyys did that to me yesterday.

Another nailbiting draft. I thought amn624 had that game, until the last 3-4 turns.

    Delays, delays, delays. Ridiculous.

Let's talk about the elections for the most unreliable devs. I know a good candidate...

Can you beta testers give us some more oriolicious screen shots to sink our eyes in while we wait for the game to release :)?

Delay and polished final product beats rushed release full of bugs, bro ;)

It isn't, man. Trust us on this. Multiplayer Orions is sooooo incredibly awesome. It IS worth the wait.

    Here's a few more screens!

My favorites: Tentacle (gets a bonus for other Tentacles in play, think Allies decks in MTG), Giant Spider (has an ability that prevents an enemy creature from attacking for one turn, really useful) and Shadow Clone (its ability is to cast a clone of itself -- with full health! -- on an empty slot.)

The catch: you can only have two Shadow Clones in play. Cast the ability one more time, they all die.

Actually, you can have 3, but you can't have 4.

    draft

Yeah, Izzy maimed me twice today. Of course, he had first pick in both drafts :(

Knowledge of the cards does make this a game of skill. Make a mistake and you are liable to pay for it. Case in point: I had some really good Fire goodness including Red Drake and Diablo but needed a boost in Fire. I had drafted Blood ritual, which gives you a crapload of Fire but does 3 damage to your creatures. Of course, I forgot about the latter effect. I cast the spell and lost 3 creatures and the game.

That will NOT happen again, Izzy!

Per one of those recent screenshots: Disperser is still spelled wrong. :)

I know, I know...not a huge issue. But spelling errors make baby jesus MURDER

There are a few other spelling/typos/grammar and I've noted them but seriously, this is NOT a problem. Between getting multiplayer right and spelling, I go with the former.
