I am attempting to get permission to elaborate. At this point, having played the Beta extensively and pretty much knowing some of what is going on behind the scenes, I am very excited about the prospects for this game and I do not see the possibility of my tiring of it anytime in the future. I will update as soon as permission is granted by the developer (unless he wishes to update on this forum himself instead).
The iOS version is really-really nice. I can even live with the removal of some of the O1 cards - albeit I miss Ice Wizard and Forest Spirit a lot.
Did Pavel tell you so? To me, he stated he doesn't want to reintroduce them. Unfortunately, Ice Wizard can't be fully emulated by Ocean Lord. The latter is particularly useless against Elemental, unlike Ice Wizard. Nevertheless, I don't miss the also-discarded Unicorn at all now that Pegasus' has received the ability to cure your cards; therefore, now Pegasus is one of my fav cards, unlike on WinMo's Deckmasters or in O1.
No, just assuming the possibility of add-ons at some point. Makes sense if the game does well, especially if mp is implemented, since everyone will want better cards. Of course, they could be entirely new cards. Agree on Pegasus, but my favorite so far is Diablo. If you can get them going with Imps or Cerebrus, they are just ridiculously fun.
I e-mailed Pavel about that as well and he said some of the missing cards might be introduced in a patch sometime, however I wouldn't raise my hopes too high.
Any hints at a release date yet? Or need more beta testers? Seems like I've been waiting a LONG time for this one Q
re: release date I can only comment from my perspective, which is there are a lot of loose ends that need to be tied up. The developer has already corrected a couple of problems I was able to point out and I am now trying to find inconsistencies in spelling and grammar, as well as continuing to test for any remaining bugs, one of which has recently been noted but seems very ornery and difficult to pin down. It's not an easy task, and it is time consuming. Also, I suspect the implementation of the most sought after feature is a huge task that requires a lot of extra effort. Given the stated desire of many here for the best product possible, I believe that is exactly what you're going to get. When? I don't know, but I do know the wait will be worth it.
Is there a reason for removing Ice Wizard? Great card, and all the programing and art work was already done, right..?
I've been playing orions for a long time, firstly i got the deckmasters on my winmob, then i decided to buy the orions 1 for my iphone.i like the game alot, and hope that deckmasters for iphone will be even better than the winmob's version(more new cards etc.) Also,i have a little suggestion,i think it can be a good idea to make 'secret cards' for every one of 6 elements, which can be unlocked only after completing the campaign for every element(for example 1-3 'secret' reward cards will mean better campaign replayability Can't wait for deckmasters, hope we'll see multiplayer and draft and custom deck modes in it as in the winmob version Also,a few suggestions, that i think might make the gameplay better: 1.plz add an extra slot just for casting spells,as it is annoying to skip turns when you've got all creature slots full. 2.i think a survival mode might be innovative.it is played the same way as a simple game against an AI but the computer has infinite health and the game keeps going till the player has 0 health left. The AI also grows stronger from time to time,e.g. it can get a new card+1 of each resource every 10th turn or so.This mode will definetely be awesome for advanced players, who can beat the AI on hard most of the time.there should also be a hall of fame for the survival mode(scores are given like this:1 point for 1 hp of the opponent drained) Hope my suggestions will make it into Orions 2 sorry for my bad English too btw
Challenge Mode Orions has Duels and Campaign Mode. Orions 2 adds 41 cards, customizable decks, Draft Mode, Challenge Mode and is expected to have the most sought after feature as well, although I cannot be certain exactly when it will be implemented. For my money, this is just so much more than the original that even after hours and hours of beta testing, each game is as fresh as the first. Challenge mode is particularly awesome. There are nine different challenges and there's no reason why more cannot be added at some point. As in GC or Plus+, there are achievements to score and some are VERY difficult. The first photo shown is the Challenge selection screen. For instance, in Fire & Ice, you play using only Fire & Death elements while your enemy plays Water & Air. In Forbidden Spells, each cast spell is double the normal price. In Mana pool, each player receives double the normal gain of elements each turn. And so on. Eventually, I will hope to put together a guide, or perhaps just add to a guide I suspect Menneissyys is already puting together. The second photo was taken just before I surrendered in the Guardian Challenge, wherein the opponent begins the game with both a Fire and Water Elemental. Good grief! Even if you can block early on, just how do you beat the Elementals as they rack up strength from elements gained?! True, the AI may cast a Water or Fire spell to slow them down, but the challenge is very difficult to beat. I probably played a dozen games, hoping for the right combo, which does exist. As the third photo shows, if you can manage two Ethereals against the Elementals, you may finally have the open hand. Ethereals take zero damage from direct attacks (they are ethereal, after all) or casting abilities; only spells can harm them. There may be other methods of dealing with this Challenge but this is the easiest. Took me long enough. Gotta tell you, this is soooooo worth the wait. There will be nothing like it in the app store.
How did the Wizard Lose? I surrendered after the second photo. I won a different game as evidenced by the third photo. Once the Ethereals are opposed to the Elementals, unless they can be killed with spells, they just take zero damage and keep hitting the Elementals for 2 each turn, eventually killing them. Mine were up to 6 strength through Empower (Earth) and other goodies.
Hey Vovin, I'd rather not hijack another game's thread to talk about DotR, but suffice it to say it's still chugging along. We had some internal issues to work through but we've worked through them and stabilized our team a bit. We hired a new Development Director a little while back and brought in a new Creative Director in the past two weeks. We've also got some other coals on the fire and a couple of nice announcements coming up. For more, see our website or watch the DotR thread here at TA for updates. I know we've been too quiet for too long. I'll be honest, DotR has turned out to be a much larger challenge than we initially anticipated and the staffing changes only slowed us down. But we're back on track now and we think you won't be disappointed by the things we'll be announcing in the next few weeks! Until then, I'm still REALLY looking forward to Orions 2 and Shadow Era! Thanks, as always for the interest. We're always keeping an eye on TA, so if you have questions or comments, don't hesitate to post them in our thread(s). Thanks again! Now, back to O2 (sorry for the sidetrack guys!).
