BTW, today I spent exactly three hours on the elliptic machine in the gym. Two of this was playing Orions 2 on my iPad. What a damn nice and engaging game!
Ok, point granted. Look harder. AI starts with 0 Water and 5 Life???? After AI casts Python, has 3 Water & 5 Life??? Minor problem perhaps but should be corrected.
Found some easily fixable problems with the AI: - don't cast a Fire creature against a Red Drake and don't use Berserker's immediate attack on it either - don't cast Soul of Winds against a low-damage card like Nymph or my personal early game favorite, Dispercer. Currently, both is often done by the AI.
The second piece of advice is found in a guide written by someone after Deckmasters first came out, so the AI should probably recognize that as well. Are you writing Pavel to let him know? Btw, beat Leverage just now. Was down to 4 life at one point. That felt real good.
I bought the Orions first one. Game is pretty fun, cannot wait for this game. Hopefully this one has retina display.
It looks exactly the same as on the iPhone4/ iPT4 Retina Screen: antialiased. That is, it's much better than on the (non-antialiased) pixel doubled direct screenshots posted in this thread.
Congrats Hope Pavel also builds in some kind of a replay system so that others can also seen how one beats the AI (or some other player). (Currently, it only has a log, which doesn't even list the actual position of any of the cards and can't be processed to play back recorded games in-game.)
when is it coming out again? And is there a way to change your deck and stats in duel mode. (orions 1)
1, dunno, this month hopefully 2, yup, in custom duels you can use any previous saved deck configs. In addition, in "draft" mode, you can pick your cards from a random set of 10 cards. It's also an excellent addition to the game - it's more random than custom duels with pre-def'd decks but you'll have a chance to be able to select your favourite cards - at least some of them.
I'm with Izzy on the price. It needs to be in the 'normal' range for there to be any chance people will try it on a whim. Without a lite version (or any marketing), it needs to be in the price range that doesn't resist impulse buys. Personally, I'd introduce it at 2.99, then have a couple 99 cent one day sales a few weeks later to keep the buzz going. For word of mouth to be an effective marketing strategy, you need that critical mass to get it going.
You all have to be realistic when it comes to pricing. .99 cent is the "right" price to buy but this isn't a simple doodle clone or something. It's a real game and even if it's just a port, there's resources to be taken into consideration. 2.99 sale price with a 4.99 price increase when multiplayer comes in sounds great. .99 cents is too little. Do you think the developers would prefer selling it to 10 random ppl who might not even care about the game genre and give bad reviews? Or to 4 ppl at 2.99 who are into the game and would most likely appreciate it? I personally would also love to see it for .99 cents but be realistic with it at least.
Was sifting through my emails trying to clear up some trash when I came accross this email from imoregames, just after the launch of Orions: Legends of Wizards. I emailled Natalia from imoregames about them adding cards to Orions and this is what she replied: 18/12/2008 Hi Peter, thank you for contacting us, yes, we will release updates to Orions with additional cards very soon Quite funny in my opinion. How come they were so sure about adding cards and then gave up, how can they expect us to trust them this time round? I don't really care about additional cards, but patches for exploits and errors should be implemented. I really wish someone would go to each member of imoregames and slap them really hard, then scream "WAKE UP!"
For sure this will launch at $4.99, that way they get the most money from people that already know about it and are waiting for it. Then they will reduce the price to $2.99 maybe 1 week later when sales slow down...
There's no way this will release for less than $4.99. It is MUCH better than Orions and there is a lot of feedback going into the product from beta. There are two problems already fixed that I'm aware of and I suspect more will be fixed before release. The Orions deck may have been too limited for CCGers but this extended deck should find a lot more support, particularly when you include deck construction and draft. IF multi-player is implemented, the sky is the limit. $0.99? Dream on. No way.
I know y'all are beta-testing away and squashing bugs and fixing logic and all that other fun stuff. Any inklings of an actual release date yet? Even a target Submit to the App Store date would be nice to hear? Q
well the problem with price is.. that people who know orions already paid a nice price and got ****ed.. so yes they will probably charge "full price" but thats because they actualy do not care. so do i get a discount for the buggy orions1? i think not.. yes they seem to be 3 or 4 die hard fans who rub themself off against each other.. but this is not the mass.. it is an port of an ancient game.. and it will blow at 5$ , no retina, no game center/open feint, no multiplayer.. no nothing except what was offered before.. just more refindes and with some more content.. but its 2011 ... and they still not care.. if history tells us anything you should wait before you buy.. see if they update it .. because promising is something they already did in the past.. i can promise stuff all day long.. that doesnt make it happen.. 2,99 will be a tough position.. if they want to gain any momentum they need to start cheap, push updates and then go higher in price or add extra features via iap..
Don't buy it then. I will (gladly). And I promise you I will have hours of fun on top of the hours I have already spent on the Beta. Even with the problems in O:LoW, I got a lot more than my money's worth and I was happy to pay top dollar. Nothing else really matters.
but thats you and your single opinion.. and debating with fanboys is pointless.. you don't see it rational.. actualy your point of view is the problem the game did not sell.. because you say.. you don't care about all the flaws.. you'dd be glad to spend another 5 bucks on a buggy product.. but that was the downfall for orions1.. and if you are the target audience they are looking for.. orions2 will fail too.. you should realize that cutting them any slack means failure.. you don't want the few fans to get back on board you want to get all the guys you pissed off in the first time to get back on board.. because mass is what counts.. not individual sales.. why don't you understand this.. this thread should be to talk about making the game better and not praise what seems like an orions 1.1... anything else will just fail.. because it failed before and because the market moved one... if you don't care.. you should actualy care twice as much.. i hope you understand this.. its not about you you buy it anway.. thats the problem..
