Ok here's my thought. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Gameloft for the most part usually releases the game not to long after they advertise it. And I know in the past in one of the trailers they often have a release date that's 1 or 2 weeks from the point the trailer is released. What I'm thinking/hoping is that they have already submitted it to apple. But due to the amount of content(that is if this game is all were hoping it will be), apple is taking a little longer to give gameloft a set date they can release on. So gameloft is waiting for that before they give the trailer. But anyways, just my guess, not fact

I think there's a good bit of truth in what you say. They advertise well usually and i think it could be there just waiting to give the good news... i hope.

It makes sense, but anyway Gameloft needs to inform all the anxious gamers here during this long period.

It's pretty scary if the devs become silent. Remember that supposed MMO from Quantum Squid? or another game called Legion of Amon?

Gameloft is a big time developer, they'd receive some really bad rep if they failed to push out this title after advertising. Not to mention it looked pretty polished and that's alot of development time and money down the drain.

    Stoked, but practical

I quit WOW a few months ago after 5 years of devoted playing. The main reason I cancelled my account was I HATE having to sit in one place to play it. Even if you have a laptop, you still can't go anywhere and play. You need power, wifi, I need a real mouse and I also use a Nostromo, so it's just too much to really take with me and play at the same level that I could at home.

O&CO will hopefully solve this problem for me. The game looks great, promises to have leveling and guilds, different toons including my favorite, an Undead race, and the polish and completeness that you would need to mimic WOW.

However I think we all need to be practical here. There is no way that three or four buttons are going to be enough to satisfy any WOW player. Think of your favorite class, and then pick four spells that you need and then stop. It doesn't look there are too many options for the classes but I'm only goin by the screenshots.

Also, how much content can they really develop with one or two GB? WOW is like 25 GB. That's what I got back when I uninstalled it. So at 2 GB which is twice the size roughly of Nova2, what would we really get? Maybe like 4 zones, 1 instance and 1 BG. It doesn't sound like enough content.

So if they constantly update it, and add new stuff, is it going to fill up my phone so it is the only thing I can have on it? What about people who have an 8 GB device? That would almost hold vanilla WOW, ALMOST! Will it be worth it to fill up your entire device with one app?

I have an iPhone 4, and an iPad 2 as well as an iPod touch 2g. I have a laptop, a desktop and an xbox360. I will buy this game on launch day no matter what the price and whether or not there is a subscription. I am stoked and cannot wait to play it.

But the sad truth is I think many people are going to be let down when they get it. A true WOW killer would need to be on pc. Think about macros and updates. Think about a full keyboard and a big screen. Think about RAM and memory.

Then think about your phone. It's not the same thing. The game will be cool, but it won't be enough to be a WOW killer.

Sorry all. I am ready for my beat down. Commence flaming when ready! I can take it.

Keep in mind for size, high res graphics on a 24" monitor vs a few inch phone requires significantly more data. Likely drop pixel shading blah blah blah. So the world can be very large and not as large a file.

Did I miss the part where ANYONE said this was going to be a WoW killer?

I read the whole thread yesterday, and in the 43 pages there is quite a bit of excitement about this app.

I did not see "WOW Killer" anywhere, so I guess you are correct in saying what you said, but the level of hype/excitement/speculation within this thread really points to the fact that many do have a feeling this would replace WOW for them.

And as far as compression and file size and whatnot, I hope your right. I just remember pretty much doing a lot of the CATA content in about a week. We will probably accomplish everything in this game in 4 days of playing.

Again, I hope I'm wrong. I would LOVE to have a mobile MMORPG that would keep me involved for awhile. :)

Well you can finish Cata content quickly bc it's easy and leveling is ridiculously fast even without heirlooms. So it all depends on difficulty and leveling speed.

I'm not very optimistic on how this game will turn out but at the same time I'm excited and hope gameloft pulls off some sort of miracle.

    Hopefully we'll find out soon.

Now is when you see the fatal flaw in Apple's wonderful devices. 1 usb port would have given us a keyboard option (or mouse). 2 usb ports, Keyboard and mouse.

Then a fully realized MMORPG like WOW could really be accomplished.

Maybe this is why Blizzard has not ported any of their titles yet. Because it wouldn't be the same as the pc version. It would have to be re-designed and therefore runs the risk of not being as good.

But just like the original ipad had no camera, and now ipad 2 does, Apple may one day add a few usb ports, and open the door to more sophisticated software.

Still, Im really excited. And now that Gameloft has added the game to there spinning wheel of games thing on their site, I think it will be out soon. My guess, May 1st.

I'm excited for this game (being an ex-WoW player of 3 years), but I'm gonna try not to get overly hyped about it. For me, I liked WoW for the instances/raids (back in BC) and item collection (nothing like the thrill of winning a purple!). For this to work they need to offer a good variety of classes, races, skills and give you the option to use several skills at once (maybe a scrollable option). I tried to get my WoW fix thru Pocket Legends, it's a decent game, but combat is too dull and with only 3 classes and repetative enemies/bosses it got old really fast.
