yeah I was planning on zooming to the iphone part but this demonstration as actually worth watching all the way until the end
can someone please upload a screenshot of the gameplay, it wont even let me skip to the iphone bit (which is how far in btw ??? ) and i dont have time to watch 48 mins worth.
Ok I'm watching a guy play Crysis with the gamepad right now and I'm a little bit concerned. Onlive will work on the Computers or through their "micro-console" with gamepads but won't the Keyboard and Mouse players have the real advantage? I'm guessing there's mostly likely auto-aim support for the gamepad option but turning with an analog stick is going to be much slower compared to playing with a mouse...
Many gamers don't use a keyboard and mouse to play games. Plus playing Onlive through a TV sitting on a couch doesn't seem optimal environment for a keyboard and mouse.
This is truly amazing, not just related to the Iphone. I'm just thinking of playing Crysis on the Iphone
And you'd be wrong. There are a lot of controversial console vs pc debates, but the control award has always been given to PC.
There is a big problem with the Onlive system though, well big if you aren't in the U.S. or in Northern Montana, which is that the servers only cover about 95% of the U.S. in terms of streaming and video feed. Therefore anyone in any other country will not be able to use Onlive, unless I somehow misunderstood the PP slides at the beginning of the video.
This is going to be huge... If the price for subscription is affordable I know a lot of people would opt for it.
I doubt whether this will be possible anywhere outside japan and south korea in the near future since the bandwidth req to stream such graphically intensive games simply doesn't exist.
It's not the same video. You have the 1st unveal of the service from GDC 2009. The new video came out Nov 2009. The new video mentions the iphone, and is delivered to an audience of college students in a brightly lit room, while your GDC vid is delivered in a dark room to game developers.
