I don't understand why people are complaining about graphics? It's still a huge step from ipad graphics. Personally I don't care for graphics. As long as games are fun. If I want HD graphics I'll play on my PS3 or PC. But getting to play games on my ipad that are real games is just too good to pass up.

Why do people always complain? Look at the positive, it's basically turning your ipad into a PC that can run medium to high level graphics. For a lot cheaper than it would cost to buy the PC to run it.

Yup, don't get the whining...The graphics for onlive mobile would be great. It would be a mini console. If you check out the web, they demonstrate Onlive with games like Batman and L.A noire on Android tablets and Smartphones. Looks fantastic, better than anything on the app store. Exciting times for gaming !!

For me its not complaining, just setting realistic expectations. It is still a fantastic service which I fully would recommend, even if just on the PC (you know, if it doesnt work out here)

Not sure if this was posted before, but the Onlive Universal Wireless controller is now available for purchase.

I'd get one, but I really want to see what performance is like at my house before committing.

Thanks for the link, beat me to it. I was thinking that people that think onlive works really well and has good quality should post their speed test result of their internet connection. That way we could get a better understanding how it will perform at various connection speeds.

Great suggestion, I'll be sure to remember to do that when its released.

We also need a thread for Onlive gamer tags.

Anyone have Android Tablets or phones/Kindle Fire/Nook Tablets that they have tried it on? I was close to getting a Evo 4G or 3D just to gauge an impression since I don't have a PC.

PC speed requirement is higher than mobile which has lower standards and is at least 1-1.5 MB per second but obviously you should have a speedy connection. If you have slow DSL, I recommend borrowing your husband/wife/loved ones android phone/Tablet that is on the official compatibility list to *Test* it before forking over $49.99.

Also, let's hope it IS released for iOS

It's not available on the Kindle Fire. It's a surprisingly powerful device, for the price. However, the Amazon AppStore is pretty much a useless piece of crap. I didn't buy one to play games or download apps, and, for everything else, it's a pretty solid investment. There's no telling when or if anything will ever arrive on that AppStore. The Kindle Fire is likely the only mobile/handheld device on the face of the planet that does not have a single Need for Speed game available to download. That's all you need to know. I'll believe Onlive on either the Amazon AppStore or the on the iOS AppStore when I see it, but I ain't exactly holding my breath. If you owned an ASUS, you'd likely have access by now. Those tablets ain't cheap.

It is available on the Kfire if it is Rooted (jail broken) which gives you the full Android market. Check out the XDA forums

EDIT: Forgot to say, you do NOT even have to Root your device to get Onlive on it. The Kindle Fire like all Android devices/phones, has a feature found under settings where you tap on "enable installation from unknown sources". Once you do that, ask a loved one, co-worker, TA friend etc with an android smartphone/Tablet to email you the the Free Onlive Apk file. Mainly this can be done by them using a file explorer like Astro, ES file manager etc to back it up first and than emailing it.

If you don't know anyone with an android smartphone/Tablet, than I suggest going to a reputable site like the XDA Forums where someone will be nice enough to help you. Once you have the Onlive Apk file, simply click on it, install using the Package installer and voila! You're all set. It's like installing any app from the Amazon AppStore.

Found this hopefully everyone takes advantage of it:

GameSpot, a company that has partnered with OnLive on several things in the past, has announced that they are now giving away 1 free month of the OnLive PlayPack to their members. All you need to do is visit the Gamestop page, sign in, and grab your promo code.

If you aren’t yet a member, you can easily sign up and become one. Once you have your promo code, you can redeem it by visiting http://www.onlive.com/chevy.

The OnLive PlayPack currently consists of 128 different games, including F.E.A.R. 3 Multiplayer, Homefront Large-Scale Warfare Multiplayer, Just Cause 2, The Witcher, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Borderlands, Saints Row 2, and many more.

PlayPack subscribers also receive a 30% off discount toward any other purchases made on the OnLive service. This includes all stand-alone PlayPass games, the OnLive Game System, and even the new Universal OnLive Wireless Controller that allows you to play games on your smartphone or tablet.

The PlayPack membership normally costs $9.99/month, but you get a free month just for being a GameSpot member. The offer is only valid in the contiguous United States, and is only available to those who have not previously signed up to the PlayPack. The offer expires on January 7, 2011 (11:59PM PST), so take advantage of it now!
