I don't think subscriptions would go over that well. First of all its pretty unheard of in the app world and the app community is very cheap. Online multiplayer for indie creators is very hard. My best suggestion is to price it at $7-10 and hope it sells enough to make a decent community.
Well man i think 19.99 is not the price range for the average app store shopper. i mean nova which has awesome graphics is only 5 dollars for a lot of replayability online while your game basically consists of online multiplayer correct me if i am wrong. I personally would not pay that much just to continue playing one game. Think of the most expensive game at the moment chaos rings which is at 13 dollars or something. Most people buy it because they love final fantasy which is why they buy it. But if you are a little known developer with no fan base then your game will crash and burn if you sell it at that price. A better price would be maybe 3 or 4 dollars for unlimited online membership and the game together. If the game looks nice enough and people give it good reviews then you will gather fans which will buy in app purchases for certain things. Well anyways i hope you take this in consideration for your own good.
This thread was started almost a year ago. Is this project still alive? Psionic, could you give us an update and perhaps share what you've learned while trying to come up with a viable business model for this type of game? Thanks!
