It isn't that unusual of a concept. If four friends have iPhones/iPod touches, it's a decent idea. Look at the Xbox 360 multi-screen support on Forza. With 4 Xbox 360s running 4 copies of the game on 4 TVs, you can have two TVs for frontal view, and two small ones for side mirrors. Total cost of the 4 iPods plus the four games would be no more than $950. Total cost for the Forza Motorsport setup would be well over a thousand dollars (4 Xbox 360s, 4 TVs, 4 copies of the game). And about your comment about being spoiled... only kids have iPhones/iPod Touches?? Silly me, if I had known only my parents could buy it for me, then I wouldn't have worked at a job and thrown the cash down for it myself. Any KID with an 'iPhone' is spoiled (do you honestly think they make full use of the mandatory $30 data plan?). Adults can own them too, you know. Either way, this isn't really a good idea for a single person with 4 iPods. Worms is a 4 player games (8 in the older titles), have 4 players with 4 iPods with this game would be a great idea, imo.
Maybe vinny doesn't have 4 friends, so the thought didn't occur to him sorry to get off topic. couldn't help it
Even though that was insulting....kudos...not bad But the reason I said that was, its a pointless idea. Even if you had 4 ppl over that had their ipods with them, why would they put them all together just so 1 person could play? Its dumb. And for real....who has 4 iphones....
Well when I saw the post I thought it was real. My first thoughts were something like yours but in the end its just a cool novelty that hasn't been done as far as I know. Plus it says you can do two screens on top of each other, doesn't require 4 people. Real or not, its kind of interesting but I agree, not so functional.
You may have forgotten that this game was originally a hot-seat game, therefore a one-screen solution for 4 players would pretty much work. I'm so excited about this game.
OMG look at this sorry if this has been mentioned before, but COOL! I hope they add wifi soon, I don't have anyone to play with.
Yeah. Well, you're really awesome too. Thanks for pointing out that a hypothetical is a stupid concept while he is actually pointing out how ridiculous the concept is and comparing it to someone else. And, obviously, someone does have four Xbox 360's, because, he hooked them all up and played Forza Motorsport 2 on them all. Don't be an asshole.
It isn't so much for the end-user. This setup would be more for gaming expos and the like. Usually outfitted with one of those vehicle racing seats with the speakers hanging out of every corner. And why is it a stupid concept even if it was intended for the end-user? Just because you can't afford <$2000 worth of equipment to enjoy a few games way more than anyone else, means it's stupid? Is buying a $150,000 sports car stupid because you can buy a Geo Metro for $800? If I had more money than I knew what to do with, you better believe I'd have a rig similar to the one I mentioned. It's a shame more games didn't have this same multiscreen support.
In theory an Apple finatic could have a first gen iPod Touch, iPod Touch 2G, iPhone 3G, and iPhone 3GS which would add up to the 4 devices needed to play like that.
4.99$ If the rumors are correct, this would be a stunning price for such a polished game with high replayability.
Yup, that is a good price. I think that Team17 would wait a while before releasing it, for promotional purposes.
