I got this email message from Apple today ..... I am very bummed. I only live 20 miles from the Apple Store and stupidly opted for the delivery .... now I have to wait until Monday .... I want my money back! If I'd only known I would have been happy to wait in line at the Apple Store. To Our Valued Apple Customer: Thank you for your recent purchase of the magical and revolutionary Apple iPad. We would like to advise you Saturday delivery is not available in your area. Your order will be delivered on Monday April 5th.
Sure does ... Apple has always used FedEx for deliveries and I get Sat. delivery for FedEx but I guess UPS underbid and I get screwed .... I think the worst part is that I didn't make any plans away from home Sat. so I'd be here to sign for the iPad .... and I'll be at work on Monday so I'll probably just get another "you're screwed" note on my door instead of the iPad when I get home.
You should be able to electronically sign for the iPad through your order. Of course, that means that they drop it off, and its your problem if someone takes it. If you have a safe neighborhood, you're good...
True ... I did see the "pre sign option" and now I suppose I'll have to do that and hope it's safe on my porch. Pretty safe neighborhood but then .... we're talking an iPad here and right now they're not safe anywhere except in your hands
OK... now I'm mad. I got an email that says now mine won't be delivered 'til next Thursday. Is this an April FOols joke??!! I'm cancelling my pre-order.
