Aah. Well, to the people who have been in this thread, weve been through that, so now were just playing the waiting game.. But if you need info, heres everything you need, first post, its a long one http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/226974.page
Hey folks, im kinda new out there. I were reading the posts since one month but i wanted to make a comment though. I think EAMobile is laughing their asses off right now reading this topic and to the people who don't sleep the night for waiting NFS. I am also waiting this game since it is announced but they should release it now today or im gonna pass it.
I think they should release it when its ready, not when we say they should. We would not be happy with a half-baked game anyway.
But the point in here is that the game is in development since nearly 1 year and it is a long time for an iphone game.
Tiger Woods has been the major game released in this 4 game stint by EA Mobile I believe, but I could be wrong. I asked Craig at Twitter and he couldnt say much without losing his job. The info sent to TouchArcade saying 'Very Soon' was correct though, I reckon it will be out before the end of May
Seeing as apps are officially released on Tuesdays, I'd anticipate that the game could arrive as early as May 5th, if not May 12th, which is the day Peggle arrives
but, craig said "we are getting very close". In Tiger Woods App Store Page, NFS is listed like it would be avaiable, so i guess a release is imminent. Tuesday would really be late in that context (but not impossible)... i hope for tonight... By the way, Sims 3 is also listed on the Tiger Woods App Store Page as "coming soon"!
That would make my day. Actually, what would that be UK time? I wish Apple would hurry up with this!!!
I have been one of the biggest whiners about this game not being out yet, and I will say first and foremost that I agree with you. We want a game that is realeased complete and without the need for constant updates (especially considering EA is notorious so far for not providing adequate bug fixes). No, my real problem with this game is the poor planning on EA's part and a trigger-happy marketing strategy. Before the update which added the app store, they had that showcase where all the companies showed off some of their games that would be released when the app store went live. EA stood there and told us that NFS would not be ready on launch of the app store, but would be out in November to coincide with the console releases. It didn't come out, which is still fine. That happens, games go through delays, it is understandable. But then, they kept saying "It's coming next month" and "it's coming in two months" and then holding demos at Apple stores for a game that they keep promising, but never deliver. The delays are fine, we can handle it, but grow a backbone and be honest with your consumers. All you have to do is say "We would like to have this game released soon, but development is taking longer than expected" and stop PROMISING us release windows that are not met without explanation. If you are going to have an open enough forum with your customers to keep hyping it up, then you have to be willing to offer the same value of communication when you don't meet your goals. Stop telling us it is coming out, or when it doens't at least ease our frustration with a simple "We decided to retool the balance... blah blah" or whatever. had they said from the start "It's coming out when it's done" and not offered a release window, I personally would have no problem waiting however long it took.
EA already thinks its ready, hence the fact they've submitted it. It's Apple that are taking their time.
I can agree that all the delay is irritating a lot of people. I think I'm just more patient cuz I'm busy plyaying other games anyway
Once again he makes the point of a summer release. The new comments from Craig are below: I SWEAR to you. I have an idea of when it's going to release however since it's not guaranteed, we're asked not to make any statements. This was the decision that was made from the higher ups. Instead, we're more likely to say 'that's a summer release". If you contact our PR dept, this is exactly the response you'll receive. I try to provide as much information here as I can (though I realize that sometimes this info may sound vague). The choice is that or post nothing, and when I say nothing then some people make up things to replace the silence...so that doesn't really work. At this point, I don't think anyone here want's NFS to release more than I do. There's been a lot of work put not only into the development, but also the social aspects that I'm involved with. The past couple weeks have been brutal and I'll be relieved once you guys finally get to play it C
summer release?^^ but why is on tiger woods pga-app store site nfs already listed with other ea games. and sims 3 (expected in summer) is stated as "soon". nonsense!
