Lol this convo is between us A cutscene could play where everyone is at peace and harmony etc etc (generic alert!) But then there is a major Seismic Disturbance or disruption caused as a result of the BLAH side winning all these wars in the past (Let's say Red rose in wars of roses is side 1 and white rose was side 2) and this was passed down through generations (Highlighting different time frames) etc etc Eventually, side X had more victors (Forgot which rose won Bosworth!) and they took over the world etc Travel back in time to turn these defeats to victory and to keep the future safe!
Hmm... Not sure about time travel. Although it is a game so why not! Edit: Hehe Yeah we seem to have gone into a little private conversation here, if anyone has anything to add to this idea, feel free to throw the ideas out there
Could play it the realistic way then. *Thinks of Age of Empires* We need more Age of Empires like games. I'm not talking where you build stuff and wait for it to generate, you actually have to set your "villagers" to work on that item. IDK how that would work in Bosworth though. Perhaps some resource missions like above and some battle-only, where you select the layout of your army before fighting in psuedo 3d?
Rise of Lost Empires almost had it but I don't like how it's mission only. And there's no troop deselect button. (I keep telling one troop to go somewhere when I'm trying to build) There's no skirmish either and no villagers etc.
Yeah, or there could be missions where it is resource management and you build armies/buildings and get revenue and prepare for battle and missions where you are fighting in 3D with your army and how well you do in one type of mission affects your performance in the other type of mission eg Size of army built and how many defensive towers etc built in resource management affects how easy/hard the battles are. And how many men you lose in battle could affect resource management if there are suprises attacks from the enemy etc and it would mean spending more money rebuilding your army if you lose alot of men in battle. You can see how this can build up and be very tacical. I think we could be on to a decent idea here
How about - For a basic storyline. You start with a war in the future which eventually ends up with the world being almost destroyed. Then a group of people travel back in time trying to fix past wars to stop this future war from ever happening. And you could make some cheeky name references eg the time travellers could be named ceaser and William Wallace plus other historic leaders
And Caesar offers to fight the Roman war (And stops himself being assassinated lol) Is it possible for OP to make this idea? (BTW I would not tie size of army to resource management unless it is to equip them with swords and shields and such or feed them. I mean, making 5 soilders wouldn't exactly net you 60 steel would it? lol.) And if there was a surprise attack from enemy, I think player should be given a few minutes to rebuild an army unless there is a lot of land around in which the player could build another "Town Centre"? (Basically, recovery time if little land and no recovery time if lots of land)
Gollum's Gauntlet: A game a bit in the style of Canabalt or Run! but with Gollum. He probably can't really jump nor does he fight much if at all. He can scurry over things and hide mainly. So he might need to scurry over obstacles and hide from living opponents as he further distances himself from the Ring Raiders (who he can't hide from, kind of like the rising water/lava in a platformer, that WILL eventually overtake you).
You could maybie make one of those sniper games like on the Internet when you only have one target, it has a storyline and the graphics are really good. And I don't mean like the one from the all in one box 31 in 1 thing. O am sure most people have played them and if you make one with good graphics, good story and long, people will buy it ( I know I would and most of my friends would too)
And by sniper games I mean for example tactical assassin and sniper assassin 2 I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. If you haven't played them just google their names they are REALY fun and you should consider it for your game!
How about a robot wars kind of game where you build your own robot and go through a tournament with it, also battle other peoples robot online
