It's really hard for to me pinpoint my top 3 mobile games of all time....I think I'd have an easier time with consoles for some reason. I can name you games that I do like though: GTA: CTW The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass Mario Kart DS Pokemon(Red, Blue, Diamond, Fire, w.e. it is I like it ) Elite Beat Agents Professor Layton The World Ends With You Phoenix Wright Series Sonic Rush Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword New Super Mario Bros. Tekken 6 Gran Turismo Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII God of War: Chains of Olympus Patapon 2 Star Ocean: Second Evolution Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness And I'm sure I'm missing A LOT, those are just the recent ones really. Can't tell you the top 3, but I do know that Elite Beat Agents and The World Ends With You would be somewhere in the top 5.
SID tru enough, but if you put in any FPS, i feel like NOVA firmly has its place at the top.. (unless were ignoring FPS only, pointless, but its why i said top 3) not to mention that the iPhone is capable of running all of those games, it just needs some Dev love..
Anyone who played The World Ends with You and claimed that Hybrid Whisper is better is obviously on dope I love my Iphone but that is waaaaay out of league!
Seriously though, if were counting FPS, I think NOVA really has a spot right @ the top of ALL the games out, maybe MoH 2 is a challenger (how is multiplayer? thats where NOVA shines). I think NOVA really is going to herald the dawn of the iTouch as a serious contendor in the portable gaming market, and bring eyes to the iPhone (and raise my 9 shares! )
Umm... I think that TPS can compete with FPS, so I say that Syphon Filter 2: Logan's shadow takes the cake. Good multiplayer, a lot bigger of a campain, unlockables, amazing graphics, tons of gagets and guns... No Comp.
No. Just no. Metroid Prime Hunters kicks NOVA's ass, same with Eliminate. The Modern Warfare games on DS also beat NOVA. Better voice acting, gameplay and story also.
Hmm, it does look really good. I still think that NOVA hold's it own on graphics and in multiplayer... but id love to drop like $30 on a serious single-player/fully fleshed out multiplayer on the iPhone... Hmm, metroid prime hunter definately looks like the best ive seen.. Im still undecided if Syphon Filter Multiplayer is really better than Nova... still hasnt gone down from far from when I put it @ Number 1... Metroid Prime MoH2 Syphon Filter (NOVA multiplayer I think comes pretty close) NOVA Resistance Maybe not Top 3 of All games, but still could put it in the Top 5 depending on your preferences.. Top 10 for sure IMO...
NOVA is by far one of the best apps on the app store but is no where near the level of the mario series or FPS on the psp or ds. For the price tag of 6.99$ iphone develepors simply can not make games that well polished games for the PSP or DS due to the amount of time it would take; it would be much more profitable to pour out less polished games. So sadly i doubt we will ever see an iphone game that is better than the other DS or PSP games.
Check my post @ the bottom of page 3, but yeah I dont think we can expect the single player to be better than many of these games, but multiplayer is where its at for me, and thats where NOVA really gets a spot in the top ranks. also IMO, an intense multiplayer on the handheld beats single player any day of the week, pure preference though.
Yea u posted it while i was typing. But i agree i would rather play online too but its something about a dpad that just makes the psp and the ds so much more fun
well thats out... but I personally don't mind... although any kind of physical keyboard in the future would make an instant DPAD..
Hmm... I haven't played the Metroid Prime Hunters or Modern Warfare on the DS. I must be missing out! I'll check them out. (I don't have a DS, so I'll have my friend get 'em! )
Oh I can't sit down and play a game of nova without getting that old metroid prime hunters feel. That was my favorite game for my ds, I played online and single player all the time. Even when seperating my biased, MPH was waaaay better. But for the reason someone listed here. MPH had far more resources due to having a big price tag. But I love nova for getting me close to that feel again. When I was thinking about the two games earlier, And how I can beat nova in around 3 hours but MPH took weeks, I started to realize something. Had gameloft included the same maps they have in nova now, but had you bounce back in forth from map to map; carrying out different missions on the maps, it would add a lot of gameplay, for not as much work--the maps would already be done, toucan just have the player do a new mission such as finding a crystal or rescuing a soilder. As long as missions were a part of the story, I wouldn't mind recycling maps. That's what mph did.
I've played NOVA and Medal of Honour Heroes 2 for the PSP, and MOH Heroes 2 is by far the better game in my opinion. The campaign itself is alright, as are the controls (I have it as face buttons to move and analog stick to aim), but the 32 player multiplayer is amazing. Except for the fact that everybodies heads are a bit crooked it plays fine. You run into hackers every once in a while but you can just switch games. I've tried the demo for Logan's Shadow and it too is an amazing game, haven't tried the full nor the multiplayer for it but I heard it was pretty good too. Syphon Filter: Combat Ops is out and that should be pretty good too. Never tried that metroid game.
