Well I was wondering what TA members listen to around here. I also want some suggestions on music to listen to, I'd like to open up to different types. I like, ratatat daft punk rage against the machine TOOL A perfect circle chemical brothers led zepp ... i'll add more if this thread actually goes anywhere lol.
Ashes Divide - The Stone and Ritual are good. Chevelle Billy Talent SR 71 Cage the Elephant Nine Inch Nails Smashing Pumpkins Future Leaders of the World Hurt Submersed 10 Years
Check out Between the Buried and Me. It's metal but it's nothing like anything I've ever heard before, and I've heard alot. It's just amazing. Their new album, The Great Misdirect, that came out yesterday is over an hour long and has only 6 songs, but each song sounds like more than one song. It's something really cool and different, and insanely hard to describe. Otherwise there's always my favorite band Underoath, along with Killswitch Engage, Avenged Sevnefold, and August Burns Red. You really can't go wrong with any of those bands. I've also been listening to alot of Dethklok lately, along with watching Metalocalypse. Really cool stuff.
Bullet for my valentine metallica (obviously) A day to remember Senses Fail Escape the Fate Bullet for my valentine Rise against Bless the fall Fall of troy Avenged sevenfold (they were better when they screamed) bullet for my valentine (have I said that yet?)
Bush Three Days Grace Egypt Central Papa Roach CKY - 96 Bitter Beings has an amazing guitar riff. Unwritten Law and The Raconteurs are kinda different, but still good. I second: Chevelle (check out The Fad) Billy Talent (Devil on My Shoulder of Fallen Leaves) SR 71 (She Was Dead or Last Man on the Moon)
Tool A Perfect Circle Deftones Rage Against the Machine Metallica Megadeth The Smiths David Bowie the real Guns 'n Roses Mötley Crüe (eh...I still like the Crüe, so sue me) Alice in Chains The Roots Red Hot Chili Peppers Parliament Funkadelic Betty Davis Common A Tribe Called Quest Wu Tang Clan James Brown The Isley Brothers Al Green Marvin Gaye The Cure Infectious Grooves Otep Daft Punk The Velvet Underground (only on occasion though, like once in a blue moon) Lou Reed (obviously, see above) El Gran Combo Tito Puente Orchestra Ruben Blades Willie Colon Nas Blackstar De La Soul I could probably list more, but...it would really be too much to list. I don't really gravitate to just one genre of music, although I'm most partial to anything with a strong bass line. For example, some people think Metallica's new album was a "return to form", but I think of it as them grabbing the older stuff and dragging it to all the different things they've done over the years (more bluesy stuff, more "spare" garage-esque style stuff, more alternative stuff and, with Trujillo's influence, adding in some little more rhythm into their work, which I really dig. The track "Cyanide" is a good example of this, and, IMHO, is probably the best song on that entire album.

Dude... all of those bands are insane. Havn't heard much from fall of troy but the rest are just sick. Also glad someone mentioned that the earlier a7x is much better. IN fact, Waking the Fallen is one of the greatest albums ever imo.
I mostly listen to older stuff... Springsteen U2 Van Halen Journey Foreigner The Clash Bon Jovi Queen Styx The Who and the like... If I'm going to listen to techno/dance music though, it'll be Basshunter
I've heard of some of the bands you posted, but don't be such a music snob. We all have different tastes. Yours aren't any better than anybody elses.
Public Enemy. If you like Rage Against the Machine, I don't know how you wouldn't like Public Enemy, it's basically the same angry political rap, though I'm inclined to believe that Public Enemy has a sharper and definitely more present sense of humor. Also maybe something like Run-DMC. Stevie Ray Vaughn. Depending on which Led Zeppelin you like, the early stuff or the later stuff (particularly the early stuff), Stevie Ray Vaughn may be up your alley . Very guitar heavy blues rock, I think he's one of the best guitarists that ever was. Neil Young. Very wide range of styles for Neil Young, but he may satisfy the Led Zeppelin part with some of his stuff. It's mostly spread throughout his albums during the 70s, but something like Rust Never Sleeps or Everybody Knows This is Nowhere. Be warned though! While some of his songs are absolutely bad ass rock songs ("Hey Hey, My My"/"My My Hey Hey", "Cowgirl in the Sand", "Rockin' in the Free World"), he also delves pretty heavily into country and folk. I like it, but you may not. Give some of his rock songs a chance though, and he may grow on you. Maybe something like the more "experimental" David Bowie, something like Outside or one of the Berlin Trilogy albums: Low, or "Heroes" especially. For me, pretty much anything by him from Diamond Dogs to Scary Monsters is great, but those three above may be a little more approachable (at least what I think is approachable based on what you said). Outside is Bowie basically cashing in on the 90s Industrial and techno-rock "phase" (up for debate), and the Low and "Heroes are somewhat experimental in that they are split in half with "regular" songs on the first half, and some moody and atmospheric instrumentals on the second half (I think they sound like they'd fit right in on the Tron soundtrack). And Godspeed You! Black Emperor (or wherever they stick the punctuation). I've only met one person who didn't like Godspeed! And he doesn't like anything.
