Is it close to that game featuring a pipe guy with an Italian (and / or Mexican?) name? tops2 Well-Known Member Jan 21, 2011 2,083 56 48 #7 tops2, May 13, 2011 Just curious, what makes this game better than LOE? Also, how does it compare to Robot wants Kitty (aside from Robot wants Kitty is more "Metroid"-like?) KiddToKmart Well-Known Member Feb 10, 2011 1,399 0 0 #9 KiddToKmart, May 13, 2011 I personally love both games (LoE and Mos Speedrun). Mos Speedrun's levels are generally longer than LoE's and are a bit less... how do I say... congested. LoE relies more on jumping strategy - double jumps, wall jumps and timing to get past obstacles (think, Super Meat Boy) while Mos Speedrun feels like Mario on drugs, in a good way. The graphics for both games are equally pleasing. The zombies in Mos Speedrun are (dare I say) freaking adorable, especially when you die. The look on their faces is priceless, lmao. Mos Speedrun clearly gets a higher rating in my book for Universal support. LoE needs to step up to get past the 60 FPS barrier and then, join the iPad club. foxmulderino Well-Known Member Dec 30, 2009 2,916 0 36 Student Italy #10 foxmulderino, May 13, 2011 Boughtt Coldar Well-Known Member Dec 26, 2008 2,457 5 38 Upstate NY/USA #11 Coldar, May 13, 2011 Is this a timed mode game only? Just got through the first few levels and it's very entertaining. A buck for a sweet universal platformer...how can you go wrong? Loving it on the iPad tops2 Well-Known Member Jan 21, 2011 2,083 56 48 #14 tops2, May 13, 2011 Are the levels more difficult than LoE? While I like LoE a lot, it really depends on my mood (I guess). Sometimes when I'm in the "zone", LoE is fun and I can move where I want. But when I'm not in the mood, LoE get real frustrating (always rage quit during these attempts)... Of course, I'm not good at platformers in general... KiddToKmart Well-Known Member Feb 10, 2011 1,399 0 0 #15 KiddToKmart, May 13, 2011 Like I mentioned, they're different types of platformers. Mos doesn't rely on jumping, double jumping, wall-jumping and avoiding environmental hazards like LoE does. It's just... different, in a good way. Just pick it up - you can't go wrong. And while you're at it, pick up Frogatto too! tops2 Well-Known Member Jan 21, 2011 2,083 56 48 #16 tops2, May 13, 2011 Haha... I might pick it up.. Just watch the game play video of Mos Speedrun, and looks like it may get frustrating for me. The "nice thing" about LoE for me is levels are short enough so *when* I die, I don't really lose that much progress.. But for 0.99... make its hard to resist.. Psykikgmr Well-Known Member Apr 10, 2010 327 0 0 #17 Psykikgmr, May 13, 2011 Got it. Love it. Played on both the iPad2 and iPhone. It is SO MUCH better controlling the guy on the iPad2. Major points for being universal, I love it on the iPad Ashflow Well-Known Member Jan 9, 2011 787 0 0 MI #18 Ashflow, May 15, 2011 Bought! It's kind of like LoE with less but longer levels, more objectives, and ghosts. I like it. syntheticvoid Well-Known Member Jun 20, 2010 14,504 124 63 Musician & factory worker. a[V-O-I-D] http://apparentsymmetry.bandcamp.com #19 syntheticvoid, May 15, 2011 I believe Mos has more thought out levels as well... None of the objects start moving until the time starts (when you first press a button...), and everything lines up PERFECTLY so that if done right, you cab get to the end of the level in the shortest amount of time... Unlike LOE, where everything is moving before you and the clock starts... Which makes for more of a random experience... Making it so that it's pure luck if you get a perfect start to finish run... Mos beats LOE IMO... any day of the week... =oD Coldar Well-Known Member Dec 26, 2008 2,457 5 38 Upstate NY/USA #20 Coldar, May 15, 2011 The just recently released lite and weekend sale swayed me to buy the full.
