Shoot enemies down with missiles. Earn EXP and upgrade your missile. Can you beat all 16 stages across four Zones to ultimately defeat The Eye? Dodge walls and obstacles that scroll by at ultrasonic speeds while still aiming carefully to target each enemy, one by one. Missileman is a game all about speed and precision! Earn points by leveling up, which you can then use to upgrade your abilities in three separate skill trees. You have a total of 24 skills to choose from. Plan a different strategy on every play-through! Missileman has four Zones, each divided into 4 stages that are generated procedurally so that the wall layout and enemy patterns are always different. Each Zone also has distinctive enemies, whose design and attacks are built around the Zone's own unique boss. Have a nice missile! If you were to only get one...? 9x16 Well-Known Member Jul 7, 2015 137 0 0 EST/EDT #3 9x16, Apr 28, 2017 Interestingly, the two games came out within two days of each other and both have procedurally generated stages. But apart from that, they diverge significantly, and not just in aesthetics. Glitchskier is the more compact, focused game. The campaign mode is a straightforward clear, so most time is spent in the endless mode, which should probably be called caravan mode, as the creeping wall of death from below will limit how long even a perfect run can last – probably on the order of five minutes. Combine that with a straightforward yet elegant mechanic of only being able to carry two powerups that also serve as shields, and you have a game that works very well in small chunks. Missileman is much more expansive. Its core mechanic has you moving with one finger and firing by tapping with the other (using the same mechanic in Glitchskier, but with the addition of holding to continue firing would an interesting addition, although potentially problematic on iPhones and iPod touches due to many threats from below). It is much sparser in terms of bullets, emphasizing collisions instead; its not shy about throwing out lots of enemies, including invincible ones, as well as environmental hazards. There are multiple upgrade paths that have unlockables, which are not persistent from run to run. Clearing appears to be very difficult and take approximately 16 minutes. It offers a move sensitivity slider, for 1:1 movement. There's also a pillarboxed portrait-mode on iPads. Finally it is significantly less resource intensive, working well on my iPad mini 2.
