"Someone stole your sister so QUICK! RUN ACROSS ROOFTOPS WITH THIS BAG!" I've got to agree with Phil, most people wouldn't have paid much attention if it hadn't claimed to reinvent platforming with it's first person viewpoint. I mean this game could just as easily be another Assassin's Creed... there's no real difference, nothing that makes it stand out, nothing that makes it unique.
Looks Cool The game was good on the PS3, so I hope it's even better here. Unfortunately, like almost all EA games, it's gonna be $9.99
When the PS3 version is released he already did... That asswipe immediately registered "mirrors" hehe which as you can guess he can use to talk his way into copyright battle claiming its "too similar" to his non existent game. What Tim does all day is bang the word "edge" on google and RSS, and see what new thing pop up, then run to the nearest patent office to register the name or something similar to it.
I disagree to some extent. It may be a good game regardless of the view but part of what made this game great was the first person view. I believe the they could have still made that kind of game had they made use of the accelerometer and gestures. The 3rd person perspective takes away, at least initially, the desire to buy it. They took a creative game and seemingly made it like every other 3rd person game out there.
Well, the iPlatform has very few 3rd person action/adventure games, so it doesn't trouble me they're taking this route.
Possibly EA has seen the success of canabault and decided to make this a side scroll er with amazing gfx.Might still work though i need a video ASAP
It looks like the 2d flash game with snazzy graphics and some new fighting mechanics. In fact the fighting looks more fun in this than in the full game.
i actually have been hoping for a while that canabalt would get updated with other level layouts, including some with ziplines and whatnot. this will do fine as long as the gameplay itself holds up... one has to hope that this game runs smoothly as possible.
here's a link for the lazy http://www.eamobile.com/iphone-games/mirrors-edge i'm shocked at how good that looks and how smooth it runs. my 2g touch is starting to tremble. and, it does in fact have a dynamic camera that scales and rotates to give it a very cinematic feel. that's how you use 3-D to your advantage.
Could be a release date in early 2010, due to the copyright disclaimer at the end, which says (c) 2010 Electronic Arts.
