I'm really thinking this will come out at 2.99 EA will then be able to use the fact that you can get both versions for the original price of the iPads.. after a couple days I think it'll be 4.99.. At least this is what I hope.. EA will probably just see a pile of money either way..

If I was EA and believed that I could not sell this game on the iphone for more than 2.99, then I would can the entire project and not even bother ever releasing it in the first place. It will debut at either 6.99 or 9.99. I'm not saying that it isn't worth that much. Maybe the game is worth 9.99. I'm only saying that EA WILL drop the game from whatever they originally price it at within a week or two. If they start it at 9.99, they will drop it to 6.99, and possibly even to 4.99 (although the 4.99 price point would likely only last for a day or two). So, if you buy it for 9.99, and it may actually be worth 9.99, you will probably be kicking yourself when the price drops a few days later. That's really all I'm saying. Knowing how EA operates, I will not buy this on day one, no matter the price.
If they see an oppurtunity in making 13 dollars instead of either 10 for the ipad and maybe 7 for the iphone they could effectively market that the original was 13 dollars for just iPad, now you can get iPad/iPhone for that much. However they release this game, I believe it will be less than we expect because we all know (since they've delayed this for months) that they want to milk the iPad version for all its worth.. but then again you could be right and they decide that the iPad has had its run and now they need to rob the iPhone owners despite making us wait months more..
Ya, they want to milk the iPad version for all it's worth, but they also want to milk the iPhone version for all it's worth as well. I see no reason why they'd want to give the iPhone version away for any less than they have to. It wouldn't make any sense at all. Why try to maximize profits on the iPad then minimize profits on the iPhone? If they didn't care about profits, they wouldn't bother trying to maximize them on the iPad. Their goal is to make as much profit as possible.

If the game is worth $9.99, I don't mind supporting the developer at that price point. I said the sane thing in the Bruce Lee thread when the price dropped from $4.99 to $.99 and someone posted that the people who bought the game at $4.99 must be mad. I said I thought it was easily worth $4.99 and wasn't upset that that's what I paid for it.
i don't think this game is worth squat. for what is essentially just canibalt with jazzed up graphics, it was never worth $14.99 on ipad anyway. after all the delays etc, it would be lucky to sell anything major at all on iphone.
I played the game on the ipad and enjoy it. This game is going to look great on the i4. I think its worth 9.99. I think the problem is that this platform is flooded with games for 99 cents and when they see a big price tag(which 9.99 isn't) they automatically say its to much. Guys its ten bucks. Let me put that into perspective. 1- if u smoke its a pack of cigarrettes 2- what you probally spend on lunch.
I disagree. I think there's only a small minority of gamers like those on this thread who have actually become irritated while waiting on this game day by day. I just don't think it's on most people's radar. But there will probably be a big promotional push when it is released. And if it's, say, eight dollars or less, then I predict it will be in the top 25 almost immediately.
Ya, appera is slow. They just reposted the IGN article and that too days after it was posted in this thread already http://forums.toucharcade.com/showpost.php?p=1127120&postcount=674 http://wireless.ign.com/articles/109/1099800p1.html
I can't wait, hopefully we see this released in the next couple days. I'll be downloading the moment it hits the App Store.
It's still not out yet... I've been checking the app store religously for the past week, and no sign from EA... WTF IS GOING THRU EA'S HEAD THAT THEY CAN MISS OUT ON HUNDREDS OF IPHONE SALES?!?!?!?!??!?!
