I think 2D would look better, I looked at the screenshots and it's just a mess of jagged pixels and PS1-esque models. Until the iPhone can do anti-aliasing I'm gonna keep supporting 2D over 3D. http://mirrorsedge2d.com <<< That... is a nice looking game.
I'll wait to see the game in motion before passing judgement on still images. In the meantime, I will continue to enjoy the existing 3D games on the iphone...
well hopefully they utilize the dynamic camera well, because that's a key point in going with 3-D presentation. jumping on a zip line then having the camera swing behind you as you swoop in would be very cinematic and enjoyable.
Well it's zoomed in... maybe it hasn't rotated just cause the helicopter happened to be in the background.
I'm pretty happy with PS1 era graphics on my PDA/Phone If nobody pushes the envelope we'll end up with more Tapwave's and less iPhones.
I would say that, with a few notable exceptions, PS1 era graphics is what you get on the PSP as well.
they hould have 2 modes one that has 2d mode with the same levels as the flash version and they have the 3d version with the story. i think they should have touch and tilt i think tilt would work fine in this game but i think if they did touch controls right it would work.
Yeah, but I wouldn't really rate any PSP games judging by graphic quality. Although to be honest one of the cleanest and sharpest looking games on there is LocoRoco, and naturally... it's 2D. I don't think 3D graphics are totally out of place on the iPhone, I'm really looking forward to Driver... but since Mirror's Edge is basically 2D anyway they could easily have gone with some nice sharp hand-drawn sprites if they wanted to. Probably too lazy to do the animations.
Well then that's all the better for us. The PSP is bulkier, has no camera, has no phone, has no GPS and the games cost more in general.
the ipod touch has no camera and barely has a phone(text apps) but it's still portable and a great gaming device. coming from someone who's played alot of psp games EDIT: oh and no GPS
I'd get it, but it looks like a side scroller. I just hope it keeps the whole parkour themed game play.
The main point of Mirrors Edge was the First Person view, if it doesnt have FPV, they murdered this game
No, the main point of Mirror's Edge was killer platforming, compelling art style, and an interesting plot. If this iPhone game has all of those points, then it will be fun.
