Yeah, a lot of their games seem to be freemium wannabes with no originality. Chillingo also seems to milk their early adopters and go free after a month. Really sad to see. Must be the influence from being bought by Electronic arts. Only good thing out of this is we get their games free in one month, but most games like jar in a bar just suck being freemium like. Shame on you Chillingo! Your rep is getting really low nowadays. Nowadays not even excited about Chillingos releases with all the inapps and coins and stuff. Really sad.
=oP Totally agree... It's kinda funny though, it's not the paidmium model that really upsets me... it's that basically 95% of their published titles are NEVER updated... I'm not talking about titles from 2010 or anything... but recently over the last couple years... I've found it VERY rare that a Chillingo game I buy gets a bugfix or an actual update with dev promised features... I know sometimes sales suffer, and that impacts this... but really, whenever I even think about buying a Chillingo game, the first thing that goes through my mind is 'yeah right... if there's a bug, will it ever be fixed?'
Take a look at a screenshot on my new ipad, and alot of the environment like the flowers, trees, and grass all move! This game looks gorgeous too on my tv via hdmi out from my ipad. With a disk size not so big, this packs some power on ipad retina. For a buck, it is a must have. Just gorgeous because of the 3d ipad retina graphics. Hint: turn auto aim off, for a more fun dual stick shooter type feel.
I agree to turning off auto aim... Kinda makes the game pointless for some reason. No challenge or any fun in it if its on.
Hmm I wonder if they're going to just drop support for the 4G altogether. I guess I'll have to pass on this. Even though at $1 it's a great deal
I don't know what everyone sees in this game. I bought it last night and it was just as I had expected. Monotone gameplay. It's just as if not more boring than hack and slash games. The only thing is that it looks very cool and has a bunch of upgrades for you to work towards, but after about an hour of playing, everything started getting pretty expensive and it became a major grind. I literally fell asleep playing yesterday, I don't know how, but I did. If this game were any bigger than 100mb it'd be deleted now, but at 49mb it can stick around for a bit. If you're into this type of repetitiveness or don't mind squeezing in a round or two every now and then, then pick it up, but don't expect to play this nonstop IMO. Either way, for a buck, you can see for yourself I suppose.
No it just got repetitive and boring, took too long to see any progress, aka grindfest. I don't like repetitive games already, let alone repetitive games that make you grind.
I'm torn on this one. I enjoyed the first one a bit, but didn't love it as much as the masses. I haven't seen much to tell me that the sequel is all that much different from the original so I feel like I'd get bored quickly. Is it still basically an endless DSS but with upgrades?
Minigore 2 is not just basically an endless DSS with upgrades; it also has bosses and selectable levels. It's better than Minigore 1, but basically more of the same so if you "liked" the original then you'll probably also enjoy the sequel (just maybe not as much as the masses). One thing that stands out to me is the enemy attack patterns and mob mentality or clustering is a lot of fun so the AI stands out as more advance too.
sounds like it just got repetitious, amazing graphics doesn't make a game worth playing as we all know. i don't own this game yet, might buy it before the sale is over - but not the type to jump on another shooter unless its free
Game was released at 1.99, not 3.99. Dec 13 '12 - $1.99 -> $.99 Dec 12 '12 - Version 1.1 Dec 05 '12 - New App: $1.99, v1.0
It runs pretty good on 4G at the moment, we put in the disclaimer at first because we were worried that memory issues in future versions would make it hard to support if we add a lot of stuff... that disclaimer seemed to mostly confuse and worry people though, so we took it out since it's fine for now. Obviously we'll have to do our best to make sure the future versions also run on it now that there's no warning otherwise.
yeah, I went ahead and tried it on my 4th gen, and it runs great. No crashes at all, goes into the store just fine... But if Minigore 2 gets the same kind of treatment the original did, I really won't be surprised if it craps out after one of the updates that adds a bunch of new stuff to the game. =oP
