The reason they go on sale or to free is often because people are not buying them and they need some attention, viscious circle I guess.

I've picked up lots of great freebies and I've found some games I never would have looked twice at via freebies that others will have paid for before it went free, it would be hypocritical of me to then complain about something I've paid for dropping to free.

Can the costumes be earned in-game, or are they only available via the iaps?

Only via iaps when I played , don't think it's changed to be honest.

happens all the time, i bought games from $5 to $1 and they went free. also waited on so many games too i got free (like this one).

but get it if you love it and have the cash buy it, i wasn't jumping on this as its not my top type of game. the key is, if you can wait 1-year see where the game goes (if free it'll happen) then, if not mabe a sale, promo code or nothing.

This game is great. I've had it in my App Store Wishlist since it was released.

The app's price is not the issue here. The problem is that everything piles up. I must have around 50+ games in my backlog. Got all of them for free. 50 bucks (or more, considering the launch price) saved is NOT a negligible amount!

The going free part? They also do it to stay afloat on the App Store. Christmas is coming, and everyone is trying to catch the best position possible on the charts before the one week freeze ;)

As Eli would say: "I don't want to live in this planet anymore"

By the way, I wish I was there to give you a coin.

    My last post mysteriously vanished...
Anyway, what I meant to say is that everything piles up. By saving one buck (or more) for every app, you end up saving a lot more in te end.

For example, I must have around 50 of those apps that cost more than 1 buck and that I got for free. In these times of crisis, every penny counts.

I am not stingy for nothing. This is survival.

I agree. If I see a game I like, I put it in my Wishlist and wait for it to go free. I enjoy getting apps for free and I don't mind waiting. I really want to play Oceanhorn, but I'm not paying $8.99.

After buying Asphalt 8, and having it go free shortly after, I changed my purchasing habits.

Never ceases to amaze me how often elitism and wildly myopic presumption are so easily expressed hand-in-glove...

But then again, the amount of angst produced over a dollar by people with iDevices the majority of the free world will never be able to own is quite baffling as well...

As others have already said, "Meh." Mildly interesting watching the two camps anonymously beat on each other, but ultimately pointless.

    Games, people... games.

People who pay $400 on a device and cry because of $1 on a game... App Store is a depressing place sometimes...

Not going to get into the whole price drop thing. It's unfortunately the way of the App Store. I'd much rather have price drops than games that change completely from paid to freemium and all the crap that comes with that. That is much shadier IMO.

As far as price drops, I've just come to accept that you win some and lose some and life goes on.

As far as this game goes, it's a great game, but I honestly got frustrated at some of the puzzles (the purple lake comes to mind). Definitely worth picking up and giving it a try if you were on the fence about it.

Ridiculous this is. C'mon guys this is a game and the quality has not been decreased in any ways. If you pay for it and get a crappy product that's wrong, but if it's your money's worth why bother how others got it?

So, the game is easily worth 0.99$. Yes, I got it for free as well because let's just say my monthly iTunes budget has not reset...yet.

Regarding the price discussion, the only reason I can imagine the dev doing this is to get more downloads that leads to visibility and more money. If that leads to him having the resources to make another good game, then by all means, carry on.

I've paid 20 dollars on xcom only to see it go half price two days later. Don't regret it. Great game, great value for the money. On the App Store it's actually a third of what you would normally pay for it... and you get that cool bonus of being able to play...umh...anywhere (on annyoing long flights with crying babies for example).

So get the game, enjoy it, curse at the leaf plant thingies and the ocean, and thanks for those who paid and TOFTT :)
