Right, agree you can figure it out, and I have it down now. I just dont understand why remaining lives would be displayed in alien hieroglyphics, or whatever those are. Its an accessibility issue, it took me several games to get it figured out. Obviously its not hurting sales or anything, and I guess if some people dig it, w/e, but I just find it wierd.
Yesterday the game crashed at 2.6 million, end of world 5-4 first time through, 6 lives left. I had exited and restarted the app and pod every half-million points, as the dev had suggested, in order to prevent just that from happening. The crash happened less then 5 minutes after the last restart, and there had been about 45MB free memory. Luckily I've experienced very little crashing, but it's still easy to get discouraged about trying for a top score. Even so, the fact that MB is compelling in spite of that shows how genuinely entertaining it is. Crashing just brings back to mind its repetitive and fatiguing side. The good news is that every high quality game I've owned that started out unstable improved within a month or less, unless people stopped playing the game quickly and the developers stopped supporting it, which did happen with a few shooters. So yeah, MB may screw you out of a hard-earned score, but then again most retro arcade games by big name designers don't even have online leaderboards at all. Space Invader SIIG doesn't even list the local scores, but the game will never end unless you lose or exit yourself, which is a standard to which all apps should be held - dollar or 5 dollar.
I have experienced crashing twice. But on two other occasions what actually happened was that no more meteors or even the final boss appeared (world 4). I would just keep free roaming around until I quit the game and started from scratch. I have been playing a lot, and I don't know what triggers this, but just wanted to let you know. Still, excellent game. And the live online scoring is going to drive me crazy (in a good way )
Finally! Figured out the last of the crash bugs. I'm embarrassed that it took this long to discover that Apple automatically logs most crashes. I'll hopefully be able to submit an update today or tomorrow.
Alright so I bought this game about a week ago, and initial impressions were: great another isotopes/geo war game...HAH BOY WAS I WRONG. Alright, so I checked my library and it turns out I have every gameloft title except for terminator salvation..ya fml thats like 100+ dollars to 1 developer heh. But anyways, even after playing all those "premium" titles, i gotta say this is one of my favorite games. Tips/Guides: hahah hope this is somewhat helpful -so i tried using each of the weapons in survival mode, and it turns out the green blaster thing is obviously the best. So, i would upgrade this until it shoots 3 bullets (5th upgrade) first. These are my first upgrades. -Gravity gun: for the first first 18 times i played survival, i thought this was trash and never used it at all. Now i use it about 6 times per 10 seconds, it's just a requirement if you want to survive. The gg allows you to suck in an enemy right in front of you which 1) save you from being hit 2)be shot out right in front of you to kill all enemies in a radius 3)sometimes it causes an enemy to revolve around you causing an explosion that looks like a bomb effect when it impacts an enemy. My suggestion would be to always have something in your gravity gun. Also this allows you to 1 hit kill every type of enemy, which is very useful. -Boost: no doubt the most important factor in surviving. After the weapon upgrades, get this to max (600 rings). This allows to rush through anything and allows you to destroy everything in your way. The upgrades allow for faster recharge and a longer distance for the boost. This can get you out of every tough spot there is and even allow you to collect rings much easier if you see a huge collection of rings right where the enemy is. This also allows you to 1 hit kill any enemies. -Bonuses: slow bonus really sucks, it lasts 10 seconds. ring bonus: this is amazing in the later parts of the game. Shield: do everything you can to get this once you've lost your shield, boost to it if you can. -Remember the most important goal is to indeed, survive, not collect rings. -Make your first life last, or it's gonna take a long time to get your multiplyer back up, and that's hard..real hard. Like i got 195,000 with my first life hahah. -Use your radar, if you see arrows coming at you, freaking shoot. -Avoid flying down, especially near the later parts (10-15 mins) into the game. Your thumb hampers a good part of your view and yea. -NEVER STOP SHOOTING. duh -Never panic, even if you are surrounded by 2 layers of enemies and have no where to go, save your bombs. Use your boosts wisely. When surrounded concentrate your fire in direction while moving in that direction. ..Hope this helps :] going for first on the board
Thanks for the hints backtothis. I didn't know that boosting made you invulnerable, I thought it was useless.
lol ya sadly I thought this too until a couple days ago, still really haven't gotten into boosting much still, I guess not using boost is its own challenge to play lol I remember reading the xbox forums and ppl would try to play no bomb games or best score on one life games and such to add some replay to the game. Edit - oops forgot too add the latter was about Geo Wars on Xbox. lol
I am up to 57k. Boosting is a lifesaver, but often I dont realize I need it until too late ... many times I die before completing the double tap. I dont use the gravity gun at all, have to work on that.
yea its quite hard to get used to using the gravity gun, like i said i didn't start until my 40+ game after i beat arcade mode haha. But yea, double tapping is hard for even me sometimes, sometimes you think you did it, but you end up running right into a big ass rock .
definately! once i got this through my head and used it, my game stepped up alot. if you worry about rings too much it will hold you back. you have to make not getting hit your first priority in this game.
Normally i would just say " Man, this is an awesome game", but when i play Meteor Blitz, all i can think of is " Damn, this is good!!!"
Me too, I have had no urge to purchase another app since I got it. I just play meteor blitz. Now that I've got the gravity gun down, I'm really rocking this shit!
After playing Geo Wars 2 alot on Xbox one thing I have a problem with is trying to collect rings so much cause in GW2 these things are your multiplier instead and help your score Im thinking that way to much and always try to collect them and ends up killing me, they are obviously still good to collect for upgrades by not worth risking your life over esp. in survival. Just have to adjust but its kinda funny after playin GW2 its just ingrained in me.
I think you should collect the hell out of rings until about 35-40k and then more or less stop going out of your way to get them entirely. If you dont get the 3 way bullets by 40k your hurting.
