hi art, could you tell me on which level the game crashes? i found a bug where if too many of those red enemies that throw single grey balls are active and a boss enemy is active, the game will crash. if u kill those ball throwing enemies as quickly as possible, does the game still crash? 1. your ship can take only 2 hits. the first destroys your shield and the second destroys your ship. you can pick up a SHIELD powerup to regenerate a destroyed shield. 2. i've found that the change weapon button is pretty responsive. maybe you could try tapping higher or lower on the screen to make it more responsive for you? 3. the only way to get more bombs is to destroy the BONUS containers that appear twice per level and hope that a BOMB powerup comes out. 4. can you let me know on which level(s) the game crashes on you? 5. all 3 weapons do pretty much the same amount of damage against everything except for the 3 meteor types.
Thanks so much for responding, I love your game. I have been playing mostly survival, and not gotten very far. The crashes (out to iphone screen) seem random. Not a problem I have had with other games (except Inkvaders, where it is an acknowledged memory issue). If I can just learn to swing the gravity gun, I'll be ready to rock!
dude this game is $%^&*(G AWSOME....one of the best games on the touch todate, i cant play anymore left my charge cable at home neeeeed battery power! anyone got any suggestions on how to get more juice in my 8gb touch 2g
I love this game. It's definitely the best arcade shooter available so far. I have yet to unlock any of the worlds in arcade mode as I tend to play survival mode for the most part. I've also finally gotten used to shaking my Touch for bombs as I got annoyed that lifting my finger from my shooting stick got me often killed during heated situations. Thanks to being able to adjust the sensitivity it works really well. Hope the game rises even higher in the charts. As has been already mentioned, it really deserves it.
Ok so I cant stop gushing over this game, its that good. I really think this is a benchmark game for the platform that raises the bar. It really creates the same intense and frantic moments I got from playing Geo Wars 1 and 2 on 360 its amazing its available for my phone and for such a cheap price. Its great for the device as its a very easy pick up and play game that you can continue at any time as well. To the devs are there any plans for updates or anything on the game, like new modes or new enemies, added worlds? Sorry if I missed it somewhere, it'd be great and I'd easily pay another buck for DLC for this game. I will be really interested to see what the devs do in the future for a sequel or another game or both .
Ok, I stink. My survival high is 46,000. I need tips from better folks. How exactly does one use the gravity gun for defense? Does having a rock in front of you save you if you plow into something? Second, upgrade strategy. I have been upgrading green bullets heavily, then boost. In survival, pretty much just green bullets, although I can see where boost is so useful I might try and upgrade that.
Try as I might I can't get any higher than spot #29 on global survival rankings. It seems like every time I improve my score everybody else does, too. Bah, humbug!
Help? Hi, would anyone be willing to help us out with fixing the crashes in Meteor Blitz? I've found and fixed 2 crash bugs so far, but I'm really worried that there could be more that we just can't reproduce over here. If you're interested, could you please PM me? Here's what I'll need: - The current version of MB crashes on you "regularly" (even better, you can get it to crash pretty much every time). - You should be able to beta test (you know your device UDID, you're able to install an ad-hoc version onto your device). - Please PM me your UDID, device type, OS, and a quick message on how often/when the game crashes on you. Thanks in advance! Hyung
MB crashes maybe once or twice an hour on my 3gs running 3.1 at random spots, at random intervals. There is at least a 50% chance I will not get through 2 consecutive levels of arcade, and some chance I wont get through one. I think I had to try world 3 two or three times due to crashes. With survival, the crashes seem random, sometimes early, sometimes late. I am not knowledgeable about the other stuff so you can probably get a more experienced tester, but I'll help if you need it, particularly if you can wait until Thursday, since I'm kind of busy until then.
Meteor Blitz is in the Top 25 paid Apps! (#24 at the moment) I'm guessing that being featured in the "New & Noteworthy" section on the App Store probably helped. Either way, congrats Alley Labs!! The best top-down shooter for the iDevice deserves more attention. I hope it's in the top 10 soon...
Question Someone asked this, but I don't think it's been answered: Does the fire gun inflict less damage on fire asteroids than the regular green gun, or the same amount? Similarly, does the ice gun inflict less damage on ice asteroids than the regular green gun? Thanks.
I think they have said that, and its my experience. I cant see any reason not to spend your rings on upgrading the green gun exclusively (or exclusively among weapons anyway). The difference in power, applicable to asteroids only, isnt enough to justify splitting rings among two upgrades. I have tried upgrading the fire gun, and I just dont seem to do as well or like it as much. It makes ice asteroids easier and fire asteroids harder, but I dont find that to be terribly significant. Although they have stated that all weapons do more or less the same damage against non-asteroids, I dont seem to find the fire gun as effective in practice. That may be just me. It does look cool.
Just wanted to add my congratulations too! This game is awesome! I love the graphics, controls, and soundtrack- all perfect! I finally unlocked the 3rd world. I need to get better at this game . To anyone whose still on the fence on this one- get this! Best $2 I have ever spent! Anyway, congrats again to Alley Labs!
Agreed, once you get the green gun upgraded to max or even close to it, you don't need any other gun. I love the maxed out green gun.. DEV, probably not much use to you but just for info, I'm running a 8gb iphone 3g jailbroken, and have yet to get a single crash.
I cant understand why the display showing the number of ships looks the way it does. It took me an embarassingly long time to understand that was what it was displaying. It was probably in the tutorial, but just odd looking. Can we get a little less fancy with it and display things that look like ships?
You mean the available lives? I agree to an extent. Once you get used to it though, it is easy to tell from a glance how many you have left. Its just another thing that sets this game apart. It reminds me a bit to countdown display on Predator's wrist "watch". You don't know what it says, but get a general idea of what it means.
