Thanks for all the suggestions guys. What I got from you was to get Mos and LoE but not Storm in a Teacup. I think that what I'll do. Seeing that I missed out on so many games made me think of when I first found out about these forums. Before, I didn't have too many games and was looking for some good ones, so I found TouchArcade. After reading a bunch of stuff, I was buying a ton of games. The only problem was, I would buy them in big batches, so I still have a lot that have gone unlplayed. I still do that , like tonight haha. How is Battle for Wesnoth? When I heard about FFT coming, I thought maybe I should try some other games that are that type, because I'm guessing that it's gonna be really expensive.
I know what you mean. i have maybe a 100-150 games on my device. All but one game that have a campaign I have not finished (World of Goo again). So maybe 50+ that need to be finished.
Battle for Wesnoth is a great value, IMO. It has tons of content, and the gameplay is fun. Definately worth the $3.99. Also, I believe they have a free pc/mac version, so you should give that a try, and if you like it, get it for your idevice.
Wesnoth is quality, and has a ton of content. it goes on sale occasionally, but it's great value no matter the price. I also reccomend tactical warrior. also a lot of content, good value, and an excellent game.
Lol, I'm exactly the opposite of you. I love the Angry Birds series, and I absolutely hate the Battle Bears series.
Are there any games where you watch NPC/AI characters perform auctions after you set them up? For example, the Majesty series on the PC is a game where you place item shops, armor shops, etc, and then watch the heroes act on their own. Something similar to Godville but where you have a little bit more control over the environment, etc.
No, don't give up on SiaT so soon! It's a hit or a miss, and I'm one of the ones that thought it was phenomenal. At least give the lite version a chance!
OK, looking to get one or two of the three Hook games (from Rocketcat). What is the best one, in your opinion? I've got the money to get all three, but I'd like to play one or two of them before I buy all of them. Also, I heard that SQH is (kind of like) a combo of HC and HW, is that true? I may just get that to start with if that's the case. I guess I'm asking two questions, really: What one is your favorite? and What one is the most representative of the series?
Same. SQH just never did it for me, and HW is a endless running game. I'd go with the one that started it all. Hook Champ is an incredible game.
Thanks for your input Anyone else want to respond? (I know it's early, so I'll check back when I'm awake again.)
Em ok 2 very weird game requests: Anyone know any games of any genre (but puzzle) that allows me to shoot a hell lotta missiles? All types are accepted (homing, dumbfire, basically anything that flies and explodes ). Preferably no IAP (eg. Metalstorm, FAST). I've played HAWX and that's alright but the action is a bit on the slow side. Ability to dodge missiles would be appreciated too. Also, can someone recommend a game that has a LOT of explosions? Again, all genres but puzzle. I'm specifically looking for something close to a Transformers movie experience (the console games of T:RotF did a great job at that). Games I already own: Chopper 2, Vector Tanks Extreme, most good bullet hells and shumps, death rally and hawx.
Age of Zombies (by Halfbrick) has a decent number of explosions (grenades, bazookas, etc.) Also, try Star Wars Arcade: Falcon Gunner. Every enemy and asteroid explodes, and once you've upgraded a bit, you can shoot missiles to your heart's content (almost...). Recommended even if you aren't a Star Wars fan, though it probably adds to the experience a bit if you are. Neither of those games are exactly what you're looking for, but they are both high quality games, and they almost fit your requirements. I'm guessing you're looking for something like Bangai-O for iPhone?
Someone was asking about good, older games. I've been playing GeoDefense & it's really addictive. I've been stuck on the medium levels for a while, but it's such a pleasure to keep trying new strategies and failing, night after night. Here's a 18 min walk-thru of the level I'm playing now: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/geodefense/id305608325?mt=8#
I know I'm a little late for the party, but how is Words with Friends? I was thinking of getting it, but I wanted to hear if you guys enjoyed it.
Check out the free version: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/words-with-friends-hd-free/id400949811?mt=8#
Thanks ashflow for your suggestions. I'll probably get Age of Zombies on my PSP instead (I prefer physical buttons/joysticks). Added Falcon Gunner to wish list. Can IAP content be earned via normal gameplay, or do I HAVE to pay for 'em? And how many modes are there? Is there like an endless mode? OMFG! (this is only the 3rd time I've used this acronym in the last 8 months). GIVE IT TO ME!!! Words hide my hysteria too well. DAMN I shouldn't have sold off my DS for a PSP . Technically I'm really looking for something like a premium version of Metalstorm or FAST but not HAWX. I just love missiles ok?
You can't go wrong honestly. I played all 3 to death (and still do) and I must say that none are leaving my device. SQH was my overall favourite for gameplay but I enjoyed the narrative and characters of HC a bit more. If you like endless runners I say get HW but the best descision would be to get all three! On another note, number of pages = year I was born!
