Alright guys, tell me how DARK and Backstab are playing for you I am holding off to hear what your first impressions are because the game trailers (especially for DARK) didn't give me a ton of info. I already got 1-bit and tiny tower - they are downloading now
Street Fighter IV is a good one for 99 cents right now. So is Order and Chaos - if it is still on sale. I donno is S&S is still on sale for 99 cents (it said it would be only for the day) but it is worth checking out.
Holy shit, so freaking impressed with tonight's releases. 1-bit Ninja is a platformer done right. Tiny Towers is freemium done right. Normally hate this genre, but this is a winner. D.A.R.K. lives up to being a "DSS version of Dead Space." So much quality here. Sonic Racing takes the prize for best iOS Kart Racer without question. Multiplayer worked flawlessly. Backstab is all I have left to try out. Still waiting for it to finish downloading. But yeah, five awesome must-haves (we'll see about Backstab). Going to check out some of the other titles released today tomorrow.
Okay so I got Tiny Tower, will get Cruise game as its free too. I got 4,62 euros credits. What should I get? Ionocraft Racing or Sonic? Or something else?
Thanks! You are always the one I look for when I am interested in a game. I will get Backstab and sonic... I can't seem to find DARK in the store for some reason Edit: Found it! And a steal at a buck.
Sonic! D.A.R.K. first. I can easily recommend both though. D.A.R.K. is the better buy though. Thanks, man. That's awesome to hear. Get back to us with impressions after you've tried them out. Meh, Backstab is still downloading for me. ----- Let me reiterate how mind-blowing Sonic Racing is to have on the iOS. This is pretty much the Wii game with a few things taken out. The multiplayer more than makes up for that though. The campaign in D.A.R.K. is only about an hour and a half long right now. The game lists that a second installment its way soon in an update though. However, there's replay value since there are three difficulty level, and you'll probably want to level up your weapons more. There's survival mode too.
Retrogamebox has been updated!! New control options for several games. http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/retrogamebox/id440298875?mt=8#
Quick impressions on tonights releases... 1-bit Ninja - awesome and unique platformer. Keeps track of best points and best time for each level. Each level has 5 large coins to collect. Some are tricky so it will take you a long time to collect them all. Getting all five unlocks a new mode for that level. I'm still not used to only being able to run to the right. I find myself hitting the bottom left corner trying to run backward but instead I run straight into an enemy. This is not a bad thing just something you have to get used to. Tiny Towers is a cool freemium game. I'm so sick of farming games so this is a breath of fresh air. Sonic Racing is superb. The best cart racer on the AppStore hands down. Multiple game modes including grand prix, battle, mission, and online multiplayer. Tons of unlockables. Beautiful retina display graphics. You have to beat each grand prix to open the next and you have to beat easy to unlock medium etc... My only complaint is that there is no rear view mirror. As close to Mario Kart as you can get on the AppStore. D.A.R.K. - fun and unique DSS. The style and setting reminds me of Revolt but gameplay is a little different. Features RPG elements. Your character gains experience and levels up. You get attribute points to spend on different stats whenever you level up. Your weapon levels up as well and there is a store to buy more weapons and armor using money collected from killing baddies. It's a story mode and some rooms make you survive waves of enemies before a door will unlock. Kind of like sneaking some survival DSS elements into the story part of the game, which I find really cool. There is a stand alone survival mode but it must be unlocked first. For five bucks I just got four brand new excellent games. I think your crazy if you don't instabuy all 4 of these games. The toughest part is decided which games I want to play cause they are all so good. If you can't get all these games then you should just decide whether you want a new platformer, racer, or DSS. You really can't go wrong with any of these so if you must pick, choose the genre you want the most. Now back to the games until I fall asleep.
Does dark have lots of customization and does sonic have the whole pick up weapon from a random box and use it thing going on?
Yes. Sonic first. Then D.A.R.K. ----- Will get back with Backstab impressions tomorrow. This downloading time is killing me.
Deadlock, Puzzle Agent 2, and now Maplestory Cygnus Knights are all already announced for next week. No doubt, Gameloft will throw out another one or two of their titles. Also, Square Enix tweeted that they'll try to still release Final Fantasy Tactics before June ends. Holy shit. Next week is looking to be even bigger than today. Summer. Feels like December again already. Definitely don't remember this kind of shit from last summer.
D.A.R.K. was definitely worth getting. There was a few parts that remind you of dead space. Flashing of screen and then blood appears. lol Once I started playing it I couldn't stop until I beat the Easy mode. Played the tutorial on Sonic Racing and it seems good so far. Still have to try Tiny Tower and Backstab. I'm hoping 9mm comes out next week.
I thought 9mm was also coming next week? Wow, these 2 weeks have been amazing. Man I need a refuel to my iTunes credits!
My impressions of 1-bit ninja so far: I think it is a great concept but there are two things that I think will just bug me enough to make me take it off the device. First, I can't stand that I cannot go backwards. This mechanic makes it feel too much like and endless runner for me - which is one of my least favorite genres. Second, I wish i could adjust the camera angle and have it stay that way rather than having it constantly return to 2D. I know the developer made these choices for a reason but I just don't see myself liking the game much because of them. That sucks because I see it being a potential keeper. My impressions of Tiny Tower: I can't write a longer review because I keep checking in to see how my little bitizens are doing... seriously addictive game. It feels like it hit the sweet spot between Game Dev Story and Pocket Frogs without feeling like the average farming game. I am glad there is no spoil mechanic (which loses me every time). It definitely doesn't seem (in my short time playing) like you have to pay to have fun... but you can certainly speed up the processes by buying the Bux. But I find there to be so many processes that I don't feel it necessary to enjoy the game, which is how a free to play should feel. To be honest, if this keeps my interest long enough i don't see why i wouldn't drop a few more bucks later on when my tower is massive.
If all those release next week, it might just be the second greatest day of releases in History!!! (right behind the week before Christmas last year)
