It shouldn't affect performance too much. One possibility is that if you've done a lot of app loading and deleting, your files could become fragmented like they do on a hard drive. This could potentially slow things down slightly. But what will affect performance more I suspect is having a lot of apps running simultaneously, reducing your free RAM to very little. Then the system would have to manage your RAM more, quitting stuff to free up RAM, etc. If you're having problems, quitting running apps would be a first step. Then restarting your iphone/ipod if that didn't help. If still having problems, back up and restore - that should fix any remaining issues.
Thanks, I do close everything I have running whenever I play a game or something but I do install and delete alot from the acuall device so what you mentioned could be it cuz I ran into problems and had To restore my iPod and it's been running good since, so is it A good idea to backup and restore once Ina while??
If you're having problems, yeah. I haven't done a backup/restore in months, but I don't have too many problems. It really depends on your usage. With the new iCloud system coming up, it should actually be even less necessary (if you use it).
K thanks, by the way when u did do it though u used the iTunes normal backup right?? Does it keep game saved files to???
yea im planning on doing one next week, seeing as i'm gonna be gone for ~ 1.5 months. and that I have 3.4 gigs of other.
Right, and yes, it stores everything that's on the device. However, the backups are not incremental - at least not in the sense that it stores each change separately. So each time you backup, any files that are backed up will erase the previously backed up versions. This is generally not a problem unless you have an app (or more often, a save file) that suddenly stops working. If you do a backup after it stops working, there's no way to restore it to the state before it stopped working except to remove the app and reinstall it (in which case, you'll lose any saved data for that app).
I recently came upon some money that I want to spend on a few apps. Any games released in the past 2 months worth getting? Ive kinda fallen behind lol I am into all kinds of games, so any ideas will do. What are most notables? And price range is of no matter.
Sword And Sworcery Call of Mini:Zombies Bumpy Road 1000 Heroz Touchgrind BMX Feed me Oil Mighty Fin If your into rpgs chroisen by the devs of wild frontier is now out. These are just some of the apps i really enjoy so all the notables arent there!
Perfect man, thanks for the speedy response, been checking out Call of Mini and Chroisen. I'll check out the others as well.
gonna throw in: great little war game league of evil mos speedrun world of goo order & chaos (I don't have this one) siege hero goal battle rip off sorry if some aren't exactly new, I have a bad sense of time when it comes to these things: some really old games are new to me since I've had them forever but never touched them.... EDIT: took out SiaC cause I finally got around to playing it, and it sucked.
I know exactly how it goes dude, thanks for the updates. A little more caught up than I thought, I have GLWG, O&C, and World of Goo, but that's about it. Just got Death Rally and wish I didn't. I suck terribly at that game hahahaha
Evil Dead is worth a buck and has some nice platform elements for a dual stick shooter. I don't think it ends up being very long and some of the elements are awkward but get it while it's cheap. I paid full price and felt satisfied.
You might want to check the formal Call of Mini forum but I think some users have reported crashing on 2nd gen(?). Not sure exactly what the issue was; but it works well on 3rd gen touch 32mb.
