Yeah, 1vs1 fighting all the way. Injun left you a response already, and I find it pretty sufficient.

The controls are nice. You get a virtual analogue to move around the map. It appears wherever you put your hand down. The menus navigate very smoothly and are simple, which is great since many RPGs have menus that really just piss you off. The combat is turn-based, and once again, all of the menus are very simple and easy to use during the fight as you choose what you want to do. Turn-based RPGs have a much easier time with controls. It's really something anyone can get into. You set your own pace in this game, making it forgiving enough for even beginners into the RPG genre.

I actually passed on the new CR, but the article on the frontpage and the impressions in the main thread should serve well to give you a good idea on what it's all about.

I found Bumpy Road to be the best release this week, no doubt. The production value is seriously just overwhelming. I've actually always been a fan of endless runners even though I tend to dislike casual games, so yeah. Intuitive controls, graphics, attention to detail, polish..they're all top notch here. The game brings the genre a breath of fresh air. Also, GameCenter is included and actually works well in keeping track of achievements and scores.

Orions 2 is alright. Never been a big fan of trading card games, but it plays well and is simple enough to learn in a reasonable amount of time. Tried a game online, and that works well. It's a pretty simple game that actually has quite a lot of depth.

Found Storm in a Teacup to be very innovative as well. The floaty/jump mechanic separates it from the usual platformer, but like recent releases for the genre, it's focused on collecting everything and finishing each level as fast as possible. For the price, it's great, especially if you like platformers. The controls work pretty well from what I've played.

Lol, it's a turn-based strategy, so it's not really like Rimelands. It's more like Wesnoth, Great Little War Game, etc. if you've played those. It's decent, but nothing too special. I'd get it only if you're a fan of the genre.

    ----------

BY THE WAY, ZENONIA 3 IS ALREADY DOWN TO $0.99.

Definitely grab it now if you've been waiting to. Another steal. Best KRPG on the iOS, and no, the iAPs do not hinder the game in any way and are not required whatsoever.

Tactical warrior is good. Never played rimelands, but if you like TBS's you should get it. it has like mini-battles and RPG elements. It's still a TBS, just has leveling up and stuff. I recommend it for sure.

You gotta try Rimelands sometimes man. There's a lite version. It's still one of the best RPGs in my opinion. I agree it's not for everyone though since it takes a very different approach from any RPG I've played before. However, the quality is all there along with the ingenuity of Crescent Moon.

    OK, Mac App Store question:
Does anyone have Trine? Would you recommend it for 4.99? How would it run on my standard MacBook (latest one)?
Just confirmed it'll run, now I just need a recommendation.
Crap, not enough $ in my account. :( Next time, I guess.

For some reason, I'm not seeing Zenonia 3 at $0.99. I hope I can figure out what's going on, because I have wanted this soooo bad but couldn't afford it.

Give it a minute. Sales generally take a few minutes to come into play after the price has been modified. It's indeed an awesome game. You'll see the drop soon.

Haha, sure. Yeah, it's strange that Gamevil has been dropping their prices so soon after their recent releases though. Soccer Superstars 2011 also went down to a dollar three weeks after it released. Makes me not want to buy Gamevil's games early on anymore..

How big is their studio? Seems strange, you would think the success of air penguin would keep them afloat for a while. Maybe if they have a big studio to support and a lot of their other games are underperforming.

Recommendations of newer .99 games with relatively small file size? Most will probably be pick up and play...

They're not indie by any means. They're a well-known company in the mobile gaming world, especially for their RPGs. Weird how they're struggling to get sales on the iOS now.

Yeah one 99c casual doing well is not enough then. I thought I saw the Zenonia 1 and 2 still charting in the top 200 apps from time to time, but you never know with the ios market. I have not played anything of theirs besides air penguin (seems like almost everything else either is or involves elements of rpgs), but I see them on the forums from time to time and they seem like a great development company. Hope this is not a sign of struggling business.

Yeah, they actually began the forward push of RPGs back then in early 2009 with the release of the original Zenonia. There was literally no decent RPGs back then, especially any action-based ones. The game charted in the top 25 for months I recall. Zenonia 2 seemed to have an equally successful release as it was very highly anticipated. Some of their other games have done fairly well, but generally don't stay in the top 50 for long with their intro prices.

Hybrid and Third Blade are pretty similar, but Samurai Girl is actually like Illusia, which is by Gamevil. They're all pretty good KRPGs, besides Third Blade.
