Yes, you should get Death Rally. It's the best deal for a dollar in the AppStore currently. So compared to any other game, Death Rally wins right now. Not only is it an amazing game, it's already had three content updates in 5 and a half weeks, and it's been featured three times by Apple in this short time period, a record for iOS games. It's pretty much perfect. All we're missing is multiplayer, which no doubt will be here soon. Do yourself a favor. Get it.

Not a specialist on iPad games, but I have every single one of these on the iPod besides Pulse, so I guess I can help. As far as my preference goes not considering prices, I'd put GTA, WoG, and Real Racing 2 at the top three, followed VERY CLOSELY by NBA Jam and PvZ. These 5 are pretty much must-haves no matter what device you have. Depending on the prices of all of them, you can choose which ones you should buy now.
I don't have an ipad, but I got 5 of them on the ipod. you have to get PvZ, WoG, and RR2. GLWG is a great a buy for ipad considering it's only 3$, which is cheap for an ipad game and it is a ton of fun. Great devs too. NBA jam is good too.
If your looking for a very beautiful open-world rpg then go with Aralon. If your your looking for more action, more complex rpg elements, more content overal, and more replayability...go with Z3. both very good games regardless...
If you have any interest in Aralon at all, buy it now while it's on sale. Zenonia 3's price can only go down from here.
