I thought it was a pile of poo, as in it sucked terribly and was very boring. It's one of those popular games that I just never understood, but this is just my opinion. You already have the second one + iAP anyways, and that's definitely a much better experience..if you've been a fan of BH, I think that's the way you'd rather go.

Only have 6 bucks. I am so not a fan of Harry Potter Books and I've never seen any of the Harry Potter movies. So my question is, is it that good of a game to get past the fact that im not a Harry Potter fan? Or should i just get ESP II ?

That's a tough question. To be honest, Harry Potter is an excellent game and pushes the iOS in some places that we haven't seen before. However, I think I liked it so much because I grew up loving the books and the movies. It's fun knowing what's going to happen next and wondering how they adapted certain parts of the story into a Lego game. Not quite sure if I would have truly liked it as much as I did otherwise. Some gamers might find it boring and for a younger audience, as the main thread shows. The gameplay indeed isn't very deep, but might be interesting enough to keep you playing until the end. If you like earning collectables/unlocks, then you would also probably like the game. Since you don't have any background though, you're not going to understand what the heck is ever happening, especially during cutscenes. This may significantly decrease the fun at times.

So um, you might find it better to purchase one of CAVE's shooters instead while they're on sale instead of LHP. Down to you!

LHP is a solid adventure game whether you have any HP or Lego background I think. It's really neat seeing nods to the books and films and all, but still enjoyable without noticing them.

Cave shooters are top notch, can't really go wrong with those, especially on sale.

On a side note, does anyone else still play MotionX Poker Quest? I've probably put more time into that one than any other game...

Poker Quest is one of those older games that i've never heard of (until now).

    Gameplay:

UPDATE: It appears the developers have removed it from the appstore.

Yeah it is indeed gone. That's why I was wondering if anyone still had it. Haven't looked into why they pulled it, but I think I remember it having to do with the GPS apps they have. Can't tarnish their good name with a game

That's right - I found a website which stated that the developers wanted to focus on their other apps.

Shame. I would have probably liked it too.

What's LHP like in terms of gameplay (i.e, what gameplay does it have, combat, story, etc.)

The story is the same as the book. Gameplay is like LEGO Star Wars but instead of shooting things you do spells.

What I mean is what is the actual gameplay like, story aside. How do battles occur, what are the controls like how lengthy is it

    2 controls:

dpad or finger to move. You draw shapes to cast different spells. Sorry for not being specific. I'm very tired. Hopefully backtothis can answer ur questions tomorrow.

In LHP you go through each of the first four books, unlocking one after the other. There are multiple levels per book, and you go through them on a set path, collecting things and fulfilling the current quests. You can play as a ton of different characters, each with different abilities for certain situations. This is where the replay value comes in, because you can revisit old levels and unlock hidden areas and stuff like that.

The basic structure is similar to many games: learn a spell, practice it, use it in a few levels, fight a boss like character, repeat. Might sound dull but it's one of the best adventure games you can get. Graphics are great, sounds are spot on, and with the right mindset, you'll even get a few laughs out of it. Tons and tons of replay value and unlockables.

In terms of feeling like a complete game, I'd put this up there with Dead Space.
