So it sounds like you like the game. What are the pros/cons since I'm on the fence on this one, but leaning towards a purchase?
This is for Spartacus: Blood and Sand Pros: Graphics - they're actually REALLY nice-looking in game, at least on par with if not better than Blades of Fury's, but backgrounds could be better Characters - all the characters have DIFFERENT weapons and DIFFERENT fighting styles, unlike BoF where there were characters that were basically the same, just with different appearances. Using one of the characters, you get to fight with a ****ing LION. How cool is that? Moves: The moves are really simple, but they look varied and there are enough for all the characters so you can have a diverse attack strategy but also simple enough to remember most, if not all, of them. Special Attacks: Not much to say here. They look badass. Cons: Controls: This is debatable, but I'm including in the cons since most people seem to find them sticky. Unlike BoF, where you can just tap and it responds, in Spartacus you have to hold your finger on that attack button until you see the animation. Weirdly, it hasn't hampered my ability to execute combos, but the stickiness/unresponsiveness is a bit of a downer. Remember, you have to HOLD your finger on the button, not just tap it. Performance: Most people have to restart their devices for this game, while they didn't have to do it for any other games. I didn't have to restart, but I think I'm in the minority. No Help Section: Though the icons are pretty easy to figure out, there's no help section explaining them. A bit rough, but if your IQ is over 60 you'll manage. That's about it. Overall, I'd recommend you buy it, but the controls take some getting used to. At $4.99, it's not bad of a purchase, you just have to be more open-minded and adjust to the scheme.
Oh... Lol sorry about that. I was honestly about to thank you and say how that should go up on nodpad tomorrow. Actually, I think you may have just convinced me to buy it.
Haha, I love fishing for compliments. I'll put it up sometime later. If you buy it though, take it with a grain of salt - I've finished the story mode and there are awesome cutscenes and great (better than Gameloft) voice-overs. It's pretty cool, and I think I've gotten used to the controls.
Trenches is fun but relatively short. If you beat the campaign (7 levels) you unlock zombie mode. There is also a skirmish mode to customize settings
Best "Metal Slug" Game? Does anyone know a good iPhone version of the game "Metal Slug"? It's sort of like the flash game "Commando"
@iundated The good thing to know about trenches is that the Devs are very committed to taking this game to the top! Thats peace of mind and good reason to get it. Other great games to consider that aren't in your sig are would be CoD: Zombies, OMG Pirates, Ravensword, Ridge Racer Accelerated (with DLC), Inotia 2, Stair Dismount, Battle for Wesnoth, and Minigore.
Well... it's not that good. You don't leave the tank, completely ruining what Metal Slug is. And the controls are terrible from what I've seen/heard. I'd look elsewhere for a good Metal Slug game. If you have a decent phone, most have a good Metal Slug game fot it, so you might just want to get one of those if you can.
haha I am now looking at Stair Dismount, Angry Birds, and iStunt the snowboard stunt game. Which one?
are any of those on like an introductory sale or anything? I know Stair Dismount is but are the other two?
