Nimp is a very cute virtual pet type game. The dev says that there will be updates to the game (hopefully regularly) so I think it's worth it. Touch Racing Nitro is my favorite game at the moment. I was skeptical of getting it at first but I am glad went for it. It is incredible and the control scheme works perfect in my opinion. Definitely worth the price.
Oh yeah, I forgot about DS too - a fun game (though people either seem to love it or hate it). You just have to go into it realizing it's a fantasy solitaire card game, not a TCG or RPG.
Just wanted to note, that there is another update for Dungeon Solitaire today, the crashes I'm reporting are before this version, I'm hoping this will clear those up (was playing this game daily, and would like to get back to doing so. ) A general remark to "What should I get?" - there are many games that are going iPad native right now, some of which are going to go up in price after the iPad is released (Implode! is one example) so I would seriously consider picking a few of these up if you think you might ever be getting an iPad. (Even my beloved Isotope went iPad native today! )
Are any of the EA games on sale worth it? I looked through the reviews, and they were all pretty much negative.
Is Superfall worth it? I enjoy Ragdoll Blaster 2 (didn't purchase the original because I don't care for doodle games). I like the idea of ragdoll games and only have iDrop Dead in addition to RB2. I can get bored pretty quickly with games though so I'm hoping there's a decent amount of gameplay and incentive to stick with it for awhile.
The Story (go down if you want to skip; it isn't that long though) Well i am limiting myself to 10 dollars for easter (so much huh?). So far i have spent 4 dollars, would have been 3 but *grumbles*... Nevermind. The Questions I can't decide between Sims 3 World Adventures or Nimp. Sims 3 - if i buy it i would spend 11 dollars. - should i get it over all, is there enough content? i remember seeing reviews saying not enough content (i think). Nimp - if it's more of a toy, will it still be fun after a few tries?
I'd choose Nimp since Sims 3 gets really boring after lots of plays, (Nimp probably would too but I'm not so sure cuz I don't have it). In Sims you do the same things over and over shower, eat, go to work, visit people and the mini games r not so much. EA doesn't really update their games unless there is a major bug, which will probably be unlike Nimp which will get constant updates(?). Sims doesn't really have alot of content just a couple of minigames such as fixing a circuit and fishing, but the graphics are pretty nice though... But according to some reviews the frame rate is choppy and it crashes.. If it were me I would get Sims 3 World Adventures($6.99) AppShopper Link since it should have more content than the original Sims and is cheaper
Just got a giftcard, any must buy games that I may have missed? I'm more into action/strategy, however I'll play any game that is simply amazing! I'd rather play something more in depth with a good length of gameplay, rather than one you just stare at one screen and go for highscores. A few game I own: Jet Car Stunts GT Racing NOVA OMG! Pirates Space Miner
Animations of course are great, and it's a timeless classic. While fun, it's also pretty frustrating. The timing is very inconsistent - on some of the actions you're given a fraction of a second to a second to respond while others you have to anticipate because you have to either tap right before or right at the same time the clue flashes. So for a lot of the game, you have to repeat scenes in order to figure out what timing it's looking for. I spent probably about 1.5-2 hours last night completing it once on arcade mode and then again on home mode (once I'd finished it the first time, the 2nd time around was easier), so gameplay isn't super long. I think $3 is an ok price for it because of the animation and novelty of it - I'm glad I didn't pay $5 though.
Get ready for a doozy: So I am thinking of picking up some games from EA's sale. Here was my list before I read reviews/read anything on them: Boggle Scrabble Monopoly Battleship Tetris The Simpsons Clue Dragon's Lair Connect 4 The Game of Life Wolfenstein RPG Yahtzee Trivial Pursuit So far I've only bought Boggle and Dragon's Lair, but any opinions on all the other ones? (even though Tetris isn't on sale, I would like an opinion on that one: How are the controls, mainly?) I've heard the AI in Scrabble and Monopoly is frustratingly hard, and in Monopoly the computer cheats. Does this mean I should stay away from them? I have pretty much lost all interest in Monopoly since I realized I already am not the biggest fan of it, and adding in frustrating AI will probably not help me enjoy it much more Is Scrabble the same way? I adore the game, but is the AI too hard for you to have fun? In Yahtzee, it seems like there's no classic Yahtzee mode. It just looks like a bunch of goofy characters and a Yahtzee setting. Is this a bad judgment on my part? Is there a Classic mode where it is purely Yahtzee, just the dice, the cup, and the scorecard (or whatever they use), without the weird characters? I was going to pick up Clue until I found out that it may actually be more Phoenix Wright than anything. I love Phoenix Wright, but I was also very excited to play the board game again (since no one wants to play the board game with me ), so it was disappointing that this wasn't an exact replication of the board game (though I do understand how that might have been tricky). Could someone break down what all you do in Clue on the iPhone? If I hate games like Double Dragon, should I avoid The Simpsons at all costs? (Stupid question, I know) If I love the board game of Trivial Pursuit, would the iPhone one be worth picking up? And again, any opinions on the other games would be appreciated greatly.
Does anyone know if their are updates planned for Bombardier's Guild? I really like it and am hoping for online multiplayer.
Wolfenstein RPG is good for $1, but I found it hard to come back to it. I played it for a couple of hours when I first got, and never finished it. I read a lot of iTunes reviews, and everyone pretty much agreed that Tetris is absolute garbage. From what I read, it is nothing like the classic: Only 15 levels instead of 20, the original music is gone, and the controls are awful. Stay away from Monopoly; almost every review complains about the cheating AI. It can't be a coincidence that the computer managed to skip hotels 7 times in a row, and you land on theirs 3 times in a row. Literally everyone has an example that can only be cheating. Clue is not a board game, and not at all like the original. A lot of people complained it was too short. That is all I can comment on.
The Game of Life gets boring after around 2 plays(For me). Avoid Monopoly, Scrabble and Battleship since according to some reviews they have cheating AIs. And yes you should avoid The Simpsons if you dislike Double Dragon they are in the exact same genre and have basically the same game play. Well the guy above me said that Tetris has bad controls but it isn't so bad after you get used to it. Connect 4's graphics according to some reviews are "overwhelming" it does get annoying since the pieces fly at you when you win or lose but once you get used to it, it's ok... And for all of the games that use Bluetooth multi player they don't work or they crash in the middle of the BT game. If I were you I'd just get Wolfenstein RPG based on the guy above's opinion.
