Does anybody remember the thread, where everyone was posting all these permanently free games? It had some pretty good free hidden gems in there, but I can't remember the name of the thread, and I can't find it!
Hey, I'm looking for the most fun games on the app store. I've got a decent amount of money (still would prefer on the cheap side, but if not, I'd be okay with that.). Right now I really don't know what to buy, short of Age of Zombies Anniversary (it's a buck, never bought the first one. How fun is it?), Junk Jack (never done a crafting game...), WELDER's a buck, and racoon rising looks decent...but please give me your favorite games in terms of 'fun value'!
Often times my tastes change, depending on the game, but I often like action-y games more than strategy. But I just want games that are genuinely fun (see Scribblenauts, Lego Harry Potter, Rocket Riot, Death Rally, etc.).
Helsing's Fire, Space Tripper, Muffin Knight, Rolling Kongs, Bullet Time (this one's free!), Hoggy, Robo5, Amazing Breaker... A quick-fire selection of my favorite games installed on my iPhone.
Of those I currently have three of those. Though I figure I should say I'm not really looking for puzzlers so much (or rpgs) because either I don't finish or get bored with them pretty fast on MOST occasions (some exceptions, but not too many). Didn't really like the lite of Robo5 too much, but I'll be sure to check out the lite of Helsing's Fire! (Also please keep all your suggestions coming if you can, I really need some more fun games!)
Getting the new AoZ, Extraction, and Superman tonight. Checking out Chickon and Bullet Time for free. Thinking about Minecraft, RPM, and Space Tripper. Thoughts? How about you guys? Looks like an above average week of releases to me.
I'd pass on Minecraft until it gets some updates that allow it to surpass its free PC counterpart. Seven bucks for the creative mode only? http://www.minecraft.net/classic/play On a completely and utterly off-topic note, I just finished an intense session of Uncharted. I honestly can't believe I put up with Shadow Guardian. Or any of Gameloft's TPSs, for that matter.
Christ, you struggled through Shadow Guardian? I deleted that crap after the first five minutes and then cremated my iPhone. Anyways, on topic, I'm not a big fan of dual stick shooters, but AoZ looks nice. Played a bit of the original on my friend's phone and it feels like it's luster would fade after having it a while on your device. Extraction definitely looks great. I would hold out on Minecraft as gwet said, atleast it gets a few updates. RPM looks great, I'd be concerned about the controls a bit though. (hold out on it until a few reviews/gameplays maybe)
Mage Gauntlet, Bike Baron, Bean's Quest, jAggy Race? Getting to the more well-known titles now. I'll have a look in iTunes... Here's a list of ones I've rated 5 stars at the time: Archibald's Adventures, ChocoRun, Explodables, Frisbee Forever (Free), Gyro13, Perfect Cell (this is a great one), They Need to Be Fed (as is this one), Hysteria Project (kinda neat, though not to everyone's taste), ORBITAL, Solomon's Boneyard (a spin off of Solomon's Keep, but is not an RPG like the main game, and I think it's still free), Wispin. If you don't feel like reading that, here are the footnotes of what I'd still consider my favorites: Archibald's Adventures, ChocoRun, They Need to Be Fed (all 3 platformers) Gyro13 and Perfect Cell.
Yes. I was an early adopter, and I had to get my money's worth. For the record, its last few levels were tolerable, if not mildly entertaining.
