From that list, I'd say the best ones are Jet Car Stunts, Battleheart, Labyrinth 2, and Game Dev Story. Between the three Hook games, I prefer Super QuickHook.
you forgot mos speedrun. and I've heard terrific things about spider too. and shrek for a buck? monster hunter? iblast moki 2 if I thought the 1st was just ok and im really really really burnt out on physics puzzlers.
Ditto. I like the levels better than the endless mode(s). From the rest of your list, I love GDS, JCS, SIIG, L2 and Glyder 2 (keeping in mind that Glyder 2 may be problematic on modern phones - though it still seems to run OK for me... the original Glyder was one of my first purchases on the app store, and I played the hell out if it, it's a unique flight game for ANY platform and the feel of it is just fantastic. Glyder 2 is more of the same with a better game engine. )
A good way to find out about most of the mentionable releases is to just search the front page, page by page. It'll take awhile, but you'll get to see most of what you missed while you were gone.
Honestly, they're all must-haves besides Glyder 2, which has long since been removed from the AppStore by Glu in their decline from one of the better iOS companies to one of the trashiest. Take your time, and get all of these eventually. They're seriously all pretty top-class games. ----- RR2 is now $2.99 if anyone still doesn't have it..
In addition to those already said: Infinity Blade- RPG, an absolute must buy! Cut the Rope- casual Order and Chaos- MMORPG Tiny Wings- Casual Real Racing 2 Dead Space NOVA 2- FPS Dungeon Raid- Great connect 3 Temple Run- Best endless runner Sonic And Sega All Stars Racing Anomaly: Warzone Earth- Tower Offense Baseball Superstars 2011 - Best baseball game on iOS Baseball Superstars 2- ^ Starfront: Collision- RTS Game Dev Story- Best Sim out there Aralon: Sword and Shadow- RPG Space Miner: Space Ore Bust
Exactly what ChrisL said. Those 4 games are definitely the best of your list, and should be made priority over the others, but like backtothis said, you should try and eventually get to them all. However, personally, Spider and Space Invaders weren't as fun for me as compared to the hype and praise those games get, but that's entirely my opinion. And I haven't played Glyder 2, but Glyder 1 was pretty decent. However, Glu totally declined in quality after the first Glyder so I never really bothered with the sequel or any other of their games. And just echoing backtothis yet again, Real Racing 2 is on sale. $2.99 for the SD, $4.99 for the HD. This is absolute dirt cheap for a game of this caliber, and downloading RR2 for this cheap is an absolute theft and crime. Don't hesitate.
The Must Haves: Game Dev Story Jet Car Stunts The Should Buys: Battleheart Mos Speedrun Spider (Haven't played it, but heard many positive reviews)
When I think game with a unique mechanic that fits perfectly for iOS gaming, I think battleheart. Its just one of those mechanics that is so brilliant and fun, it's hard to believe it hasn't been imitated yet ( kvz looks to use a similar style mechanic though). I'd recommend battleheart as a must have for sure.
Try the lites of Jet Car Stunts/Game Dev Story first and see waht you like but how I rank them... Must have: Jet Car Stunts Space Invaders Really good: Game Dev (if you like macro/management games, though honestly Game Dev is waaay too easy TBH) Spider (if yo like casuals) Battleheart (if you like micro games/strat) Everything else is eh to me. Mos is the best of the rest though.
No lol, been using the blackberry Still am but I just got a new iPhone 4 so I wanna have some fun with it!
Wow, you have a lot to make up, but you can start with new games to avoid getting behind:http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=104190
I know how you feel, I've been out of the loop for years. Had the first iPhone 2g, then it broke and I lost interest in apple, then recenty bought a IP4 and ipad2 and got addicted again. It's much better this time around, so many top titles these days, back then the best game on the market was friggen crayon physics! The last 6 months an absolute mountain load of fantastic games have been released. You better ask your wallet for forgiveness ! Since being back for about 6 months I've spent at least $500 on iTunes credit.. I wouldn't have known until I counted all the iTunes cards I found in my room the other day as was like.. Cool.. Not including the ones I've thrown out but I don't think that would be many. The most popular craze lately is tiny tower, it's a freemium that just about everyone in the world is addicted to currently. I'm starting to get over it now though.
Why did you throw out your itunes card? Is everyone in the world addicted to Tiny Tower currently? I'm not into it at all. It's boring and buck wasting.
