1. lol @ those that don't know Mass Effect 2. This game looks really, really nice. 3. Mass Effect's my favourite game of all time so this is an instant buy for me. 4. Bring on Mass Effect 2!
You need to really back off me and my posts. I am quite sure 99.999% of my posts make perfect sense and display a point that always happens to be arguable. You won't see me sitting on the side-lines of a thread keeping my controversial thoughts to myself. Make what remarks you will, I don't really care. There will be people who agree with me and those who don't. If you want to be a go-doer like everyone else, post ONLY the things EVERYONE agrees with. Go back to posting "facepalm" in every thread and quit criticizing me.
I love this game on the 360! Is it still going to be a rpg on the iPhone? I doubt it would be a rpg and only last 2 hours.
Please ohhh PLEASEEE don't ruin the mass effect reputation out of greed by releasing a shitty ass game! PLEASEEEEEEEE heres me crossing fingers for a good iphone version. It'd better not be a dumb shooter and have some role playing elements.
Love it. Especially if they keep the awesome soundtrack that the original Mass Effect had (or something like it). Not a big fan of the top-down shooting genre, but the story art looks amazing, and if the rest of the presentation and storyline is up to par, it would be worth it... at least to me it would. I wonder if BioWare is developing it?
This game is just a rumor right now. He got this from an article on SlideToPlay. It hasn't been confirmed by EA yet
Not sure I'm psyched about the cartoon translation (didn't like what happened to Star Wars). Just make sure I don't have to use that boring Mako as much and this one could still be a lot of fun!
New info from bioware: "There have been a bunch of rumors and guesswork on what was some leaked information about a Mass Effect game coming for the iPhone and iPod touch. I've been checking into the details and making sure I have my facts straight and here are the real deal facts: 1 - Yes, this is not a hoax of fake story. BioWare is making a game for the iPhone and iPod Touch based in the Mass Effect universe. 2 - We were going to announce this, but one of the testers at a focus testing group broke the NDA (non-disclosure agreement) and things were revealed before we had the chance. 3 - The game is going to be available for the iPhone AND the iPod Touch. 4 - The story of the game is not a "bridging" story between Mass Effect 1 and Mass Effect 2. It is a cool little side-story about one of the upcoming Mass Effect 2 characters. It is not "required reading" to enjoy the core trilogy, but if a fun optional "extra" game. 5 - The development on this game is being done by a separate, dedicated team with no connection to any Mass Effect DLC development or patches so this is not "the reason there hasnt been new DLC or patches". 6 - BioWare and the Mass Effect team want to branch out in a number of ways with the ME universe, and this is just one example of such branching out. We think the iPhone and iPod Touch are exciting new platforms for games, and this game was designed for these platforms from the ground up. 7 - More information about the this game is coming later this month. None of the info that was leaked is official by any means it was research. We'll have much more information in the future. So there you go. Hopefully this will answer some of the questions that have arisen around the game. As I said, this is just the start of the information on the iPod/iTouch game. It is also a part of the opening of the Mass Effect 2 floodgates with a heap of cool information that we'll be releasing in May and June. Make sure you stay tuned for more updates and more coolness." yeah i know i just pasted it ^^
I can only hope that among the unofficial, spurious information will be the 2 hour gameplay time. This would be a deal breaker for me personally. Why would anyone pay for only 2 hours of gameplay? (Unless this 2 hours changes drastically from game to game.) 20 hours would be an acceptable minimum, I think. Future RPGs will have to compete with Zenonia and they've raised the bar. 40 hours of gameplay? Nice.
It all depends on the price point, GlassJoe. $2.99 for 2 hours of gameplay is stingy, but not a rip-off (a 2 hour movie rental will cost you 4 bucks). Twenty hours as some kind of a litmus test is, frankly, ridiculous for a game under $10 -- there are plenty of premium console games that offer much less (Fables II, for instance).
You make a good point: I guess I've been spoiled by certain titles. Bioware is a reputable company and I'm sure whatever they put out will be worth a few bucks--if not in quantity, then quality. I really like their previous title so I'll keep an eye on this one. Maybe I'll even buy it, miser that I am.
