Yeah, I understand. For me it started with an xbox and laptop, got bored of moded xbox, gave to my brother in law. Laptop got stolen at a party.

So, one year as my iphone 4 as my laptop and screen. Fond memories of playing on the small screen and browsing the web with it.

Then got a new ipad 3 on launch almost one year ago, so 10" screen with ipad retina. Never played my iphone again. Stopped buying iphone only games.

Then xmas time, discovered hdmi out from ipad to my tv, play on a 40 inch tv. Now I actually bought some iphone only games like deathsmiles and dodonpachi blissful death, cause they play well on tv.

Now that I am used to playing on my 40 inch tv, I can't seem to play on that tiny ipad screen. Morale of the story? I guess that the grass is always greener on the other side. Be happy with what you got, but always inspire for more.

Get hdmi. That's the next step for ya. :)

Edit: oh yeah, stop using your ipad as an ashtray!

A lot of people also want more story in their games. If you want to add a story to your game, add a story; if you also want to cater to hyperactive button-mashers who just want to smash things, you can certainly add a fast-forward function to skip the narrative components, but don't rip out existing content or reduce/remove content you had planned for the future.

  3. CSE,

Played now for about an hour, mostly through that tutorial. Have to agree with some of the others, the text kind of doesn't make sense, and gets frustrating at times. The semi grey transparent background for the text is terrible to read. Also, the huge amount of text, almost gets you bored and frustrated, cause it doesn't make much sense. And the worst part about it is, since the tutorial was so hard to understand, i still don't quite understand everything. Just using my experience with plants vs zombies to figure it out.

I guess you posted that you are doing a major overhaul to the text and wording, and I do think it would help a lot. The graphics though, in this game are outstanding. Just the story and tutorial have been a little hard for me to figure out which has caused some frustration. Nothing the point of changing my recommendation to get the game at a buck, but I'm kind of hoping things will pick up a little after the first hour in. I'll play it a little more tonight, to see how it is.

I can't really play this game hdmi out though cause I have to be looking at the ipad all the time. But that's true of almost all TD games.

The graphics though in this game are gorgeous, they must be even better looking on the ipad4.

No worries, we wouldn't do that. We already have options so that people an choose whether they want more or less dialogue. We'll just be adding another option that will skip most of the story if you want to. Choice is totally p to the player. Sorry for the confusion.

Yeah, the tutorial apparently needs a revamping (again). The first version was even longer and we cut it down from there. In trying to tell the story of what has transpired in Oz, meeting Ozians such as Locasta, Queen Erma, her daughters, etc., we may have been guilty of trying to do too much while at the same time, creating a TD game.

I'll check on the text legibility issue on the iPad 3, you're actually the first person to say that it was really hard to read (boring maybe, but legibility hasn't been brought up before). Let me know if there are any questions I can answer about what's going on with the story, units, etc. happy to do so.

Glad you really like the graphics. I was working on the RocketPack N.O.M.E. and was smiling from ear-to-ear watching him in action. The art team did a fabulous job as usual on him.
