Looking for a killer platformer

Great Giana Sisters

Haven't played the iOS version of Great Giana Sister, nor the original C64 while I think of it, but the Nintendo DS title is a great one with gameplay from yonder years and a nice efficient look. The latest iOS re-imagining doesn't look appealing to me personally.

It should be noted that GGS DS has only been officially released in Germany, but resourceful folks will manage to find their way to it.

 

Best platformer????

I just saw the recent platformer list and I am hoping for advice on the best platform games on the iPhone.

I'm looking at purchasing Castle of Magic, Frogatto, Grokion, Babylonian twins, super world adventures, Giana sisters. I kinda like old retro games, but I'm certainly favor newer graphics etc.

Or should I get super quickhook or hook champ? Rayman 2?

There's lots of challenging short form platformers - like LOE, Meganoid, Choco Run - but as far as longer, more Mario-esque platformers, Pizza Boy and Miss Claire Garden are neck-and-neck for my two favorites.

LARS and Froggato are pretty good too, but can't say they grabbed me like the other two mentioned.

 

Have you tried Emberwind or NyxQuest? Nyx has a lite and I truly enjoyed both. Also just adding Ready Action to the ongoing list.

 

Rob Rush was just (Sept 19) updated to version 1.7. Anyone know if the update improved the controls?
