I know this game - it was available on App Store earlier, but only in czech language. This is a port from the czech adventure game - Polda (part 2, released in 1999), there is about 5 parts for PC. http://www.zima-software.cz/en/index.php
Just wanted to let you know that I did a little write-up on The Train (really more of a synopsis / preview, since I haven't had the chance to play it yet). But hey, publicity is publicity, right? You can check it out here. It's about half way down the article.
That's great! I'll send you a promo code, as soon as Apple accept our first update, which contains: 1. Better english translation 2. Better performance and shorter loading times 3. More sensitive virtual analog stick 4. New, additional content 5. Minor bug fixes I just, would like to deliver the best game possible. That's way I didin't send you a promo code eariler. Regards, The Moonwalls.
That would be greatly appreciated. I hope you don't think that's why I did the writeup or posted here about it, though. I just love adventure games, and want other people to know about them whenever I can spread the word. Besides, while I have nothing against ports, it's nice to see some original work.
No, no, of course not. I'm really happy that you wrote about The Train! I love adventure games too, but I prefer original works, like The Train or 1112, than ports. There are three main reasons: 1. I played many of those games on PC or other platforms, and I would like to play something new. 2. Many ports from PC to iDevices are very poor - like Dracula (they deleted many great parts from the original game). 3. I love to see multi-touch interactions or other things that use iDevices possibilities - like safe or radio from 1112, or few things from our game I think, that these scenes/actions increase the realism of the game.
Broken sword 2 is confirmed to be coming out very soon http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/Various/Broken+Sword%3A+The+Smoking+Mirror+Remastered/news.asp?c=25816 Awesome!
You probably should add Scarlett And The Spark Of Life to the list: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/scarlett-spark-life-scarlett/id397685110?mt=8
Hello everyone! The new update (1.1) is now available on App Store! Thank you very much for your patience. We also changed our game's description and screenshots: http://ax.itunes.apple.com/app/the-train-episode-01/id403228643?mt=8 List of changes: 1. New english translation (in some places (about two on the whole game) "bad" translation is on purpose). 2. Improved virtual analog stick. 3. Better performance and shorter loading times (still depends on your iDevice and iOS version). 4. New, additional content. 5. Minor bugs fixes. P.S. We strongly recommend installing the latest version of iOS on your device (for shorter loading times and better performance). Regards, The Moonwalls.
I want to thank the thread starter and the guys who are still posting Point & Click Adventures. It's a hard to find thread, good job keep on updating this thread.
Thanks. It does tend to get buried, but there's not a whole lot I can do about it. In other news, Riven, Tales of Monkey Island, and The 7th Guest (I'm not actually sure if it is point & click, as I have yet to get it.) all came out, so in addition to being a good time for iOS gaming, it's a good time for adventure gaming. I was disappointed when I learned that Monkey Island wasn't universal. Telltale should consistently support the iPhone too, and actually release more than one game from each series.
I definitely think that 7th Guest should be included. Maybe it's nostalgia, but it does tickle all the same bones. It's just not the usual inventory-based puzzles, but exploration, story and puzzles are definitely the main draw.
Has anyone tried Riven yet? How is it? My fav is still Jules Verne but I am always looking for new similar games. I played Riven back in the day on a PC and loved it so I am hoping they did a good job porting. My only wish is that these new games go on sale for the Holiday!
Something just got released yesterday I think - I was busy and didn't take note and now the thread is buried. Dunno what the name is!
I didn't play this, but as far as I know, this is not a classic point&click adventure game, but a set of many mini-games/puzzles with a story. I often check for some new point&click adventure games for iPhone, but I didn't noticed anything new, except the games mentioned earlier in this topic. Maybe you are talking about some hidden object game.
