Oh, I've played some King's Quest, but for some reason the Space Quest series has always been my favorite. The quirky humour, the two guys from Andromeda, the quazillion was you could die... it was just a really cool series. I picked up Quest For Glory V one day when I found the box (you know, one of those big ones that we don't have any more ). That was pretty cool, too, but I never finished it. Oh, Sam & Max and Day of the Tentacle need honorable mentions, by the way. Apparently, I did finish a few LucasArts games back in the day.
I downloaded The Last King of Africa, but I'm afraid Monkey Island will delay me playing it. Bummer of a time to release an adventure game. There has been more stuff coming to the iPad, so it will be interesting to see how that develops. And we all get to look forward to Puzzle Agent coming out this month.
I've only had a bit of a chance to play Last King Of Africa so far, but from what I've seen so far I think I'm going to like it.
I still see it too, and there's nothing on their web site indicating that they pulled it at some point for any reason.
A user in another thread gave me the direct iTunes link. Works on my PC. But the following search terms on my iPad yield "Your search had no results": Steel Sky (2 unrelated apps) Beneath a Steel Sky: Remastered Beneath a Steel Sky Beneath (13 unrelated apps) Weird. Been like this for days. Tried many reboots too.
I found this post very useful, i would have missed some good games without it, i think it should be pinned. You can add: Submachine , the first of the free famous Flash series, go inmediately play them if you haven't. Sam & Max Episode 1 : The Penal Zone , a classic, i played a bit but i don't really like it.
Wow... didn't notice that Submachine got ported. Good game, but far too short to be worth paying for. I'm still wondering how that got past Apple and their anti-Flash reviewing system. And welcome to the forums.
A new one for the list: The Secret of Grisly Manor http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/the-secret-of-grisly-manor/id384282298?mt=8 Adventure game developers really love their secrets.
I haven't picked it up yet, I've been busy with Tales of Monkey Island. (Hooray for Steam!) It looks good though.
I picked up Tales when Tell Tale Games had it on sale for Talk Like A Pirate day, but I haven't had the chance to play it yet.
Just a little bump to let you know about new point&click adventure game: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?p=1404101#post1404101
What's that classic non-linear adventure game from... the '90s I guess? that played cool tricks with real-time stuff going on? If it's anything like that... Something something Express? Hmmm, I forgot the title. Anyway, thanks. I keep an eye on this thread for adventure games. Also great that it will be for iPad as well (it seems).
Here you had my all excited that I'd be picking up a new adventure game tonight Sounds interesting and I love the art style. So how much is it going to cost?
Thanks, I'll have to take a look at it once it's out. I just got rid of a ton of dead links, but if you run into any be sure to post.
