Let them know Hey, it still doesn't hurt to send them an e-mail to "remind" them about the demand to make Limbo multi-plat.
Luke and Vader take down Palpatine. Luke is an unknown new character in the Apple vs Microsoft world. Then Vader (Jobs) will die right as he lets out his good. Then we'll have a good guy owning the market but this is just my prediction
Not trying to burst your bubble, but the game is so short that I think you can find videos of the entire play through on the internet. On top of that, the platforming was not fun enough to warrant playing through again. Great experience... but for 3 hours and then only if you want to go get the achievement with 5 or fewer deaths is there any reason to keep playing. It plays well, but its just not that stimulating to keep doing it once you knew the puzzles.
I wouldn't get too worked up over missing Limbo. While i really liked it, its not exactly a landmark in gaming. It's a pretty standard side scrolling puzzle platformer...with some moody visuals. These games were a lot more common a decade or more ago (Out of This World and Heart of Darkness come to mind). Limbo, while visually interesting, is too short and doesn't break any new ground.
If you like Limbo visuals, then perhaps you may be interested in my current project. It's still in the early stages, but perhaps you can see where it's going. [post]1743800[/post]
http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/06/06/limbo-trailer-on-steam-hints-at-pc-release/ http://www.1up.com/news/limbo-headed-ps3 It looks like Limbo may be coming to more platforms this year. I have a PS3/Steam account, but wouldn't mind seeing a version for the iPad as well.
http://i.joystiq.com/2011/06/30/limbo-coming-to-steam-and-psn-playdead-handling-the-ports/ Playdead, the developer of Limbo just confirmed that Limbo will coming to the PlayStation Network and Steam "very soon". No mention of a iOS version. According to the developer, details will be coming shortly.
I don't know if Limbo would give me the same experience as it did when I played it on my 360. I know that the controls aren't complex so it could very likely work on the iphone using just taps to move around and double taps to jump, but I don't think the mood would be the same. I've been looking around on the App Store for games people have referred me to as being the scariest or creepiest sort of games for iOS and I've been left very disappointed. That's not to say Limbo is scary or creepy, I mean... I guess it is at some parts but it's more of the Lynchian sort of scary, more unnerving than scream out loud scary. I don't know if I could immerse myself in that world while I'm getting twitter updates or notifications about some free game or anything of that sort.
I completed LIMBO and I enjoyed playing it. I didn't notice any extra content for the PS3 version. Anyone know if I missed something?
