We did not abandon the iPhone version. We just gave iPhone users opportunity to jump on the higher level for ultimate small price. 99 cents is the price difference among SD and HD version of the game. We care about our fans. That’s why we found time to explain the situation and we are ready for discussion.
Why? Because you decide to abandon all the early adopters and those who bought the iPhone version! That's why. That means they will no longer receive any update any more. What if iOS 5 comes out and the game has glitches? The main problem here is that you're FORCING them to buy again. You know what's the best solution that I'm 100% certain one of your team members knows too? Call this version Let's Create Pottery 2, but don't abandon the first, iPhone-only, version. That way, if people love the game so much, they can get all the oh-so-amazing new contents. If not, they can keep playing their iPhone version. You don't even have to ever update the game if it works flawlessly with iOS 5 and all upcoming iOS. But to release a game and completely abandon it shows 2 things: The dev is irresponsible and greedy.
Let me rephrase: We did not abandon the iPhone version. We just gave iPhone users opportunity to pay an extra $0.99 on top of the price they already paid for our game, plus the DLC, and lose any progress for ultimate small price. 99 cents is the price difference between being left out forever, never getting any fix even if the game has glitches on iOS 5 and falling into our double-dip trap. We care about our fans' money. That's why we found time to explain the situation in case we can talk our way out of this.
I really respects your opinion but it seems too many things are just assumptions with no backup. We're not greed, its sad you think so. At the end, users always have the choice which app they purchase.
Try to understand that every app have “end date”. You just can’t develop game forever. Let’s create Pottery is supported since 12 months now. Not many developers supports their apps that long. To be honest, we still support this game and we will in future. That’s why we create new version ready to cooperate with new iOS and devices.
I find it funny how you try to defend yourself so much and try to make it sound like a "good deal". It's obviously not even from someone like me who has the ipad version. Lose the progress, pay for the app and pay for the IAPs again? Sounds like a very bad deal. You are abandoning people who supported you from the start and still wanted to support your app. You remove the app from the appstore? Great, if they lost the app somehow they cant download it again or leave reviews. I think you should at least apologise that you failed deliver your promises of updating the app instead of arguing if you really care about your fans.
I totally agree with sacley. I think that the majority of unhappy iPhone customers would appreciate an apology given the way the whole affair has been handled. @ Artur, it may be $0.99 but that's only for a limited time and some previous owners may miss it. What's going to happen to them then? The other thing, as already mentioned several times by myself and other people, is the $0.99 does NOT included the IAPs, so what you've just said is misleading as people who previously paid for them will have to pay AGAIN for the IAPs just to experience what they ALREADY have. On top of that, the new app does NOT even have multiple user accounts or a reset option. What's the point of having new updates and those options aren't even included?? Has it not occurred to you people at Infinite Dreams that maybe more than one person (or a family) might want to play your app BUT CAN'T because there's only one account? I can't believe that after so long this sort of thing hasn't been included. The poor public relations and lack of apology doesn't help either
As I said, we are not expecting a monthly update for the iPhone version. You may as well never give any new content, but by removing it completely from the appstore it shows that you're irresponsible, because you don't care even if the app doesn't work on iOS5; that you're greedy, because you want to force your users and early supporters to buy again; that you don't care, because you don't care that those users will lose their IAPs, progress and if they accidentally delete it they can't redownload the game.
Sorry Dev, thanks for the sale and all, but I will pass on this. The others are right, this was a pretty classless act.
Well, you are wrong. iPhone users didnt have iAPs before, so they simply cant lose it. Now they have the chance to use new free brushes and additional content. Game progress? All your creations are submitted to the potterygame.com, so you also dont lose it. The only thing you just repeat is 25 orders which can be done in a few hours. Please guys dont change a fly into an elephant.
Ok sorry I dont know what IAPs are available in the iphone version. However I think not all of them are interested in buying IAPs in the new version. Please also tell me how I can sync my progress with your website. I have played the game on another device and unlocked most of the brushes and dont want to start all over again. Oh really? Are you saying a few hours isnt time? Its not even fun when you repeat stuff. I think you are the one who is changing a fly into an elephant because you dont want to admit that you have broken your promises, dont want to care for people who supported you and dont want to be responsible for the apps you sell. You decide to release 2 versions and then dump 1 because you cant be bothered to update both. Then you decide to argue with your customers who are disappointed, instead of apologizing and trying to work out a solution with them. And the threads are getting longer and longer because you ignore all the valid points made against you By the way, I have loaded the new version onto the ipad and it crashes every 5 minutes or so. Please fix it I dont remember it crashing that much with the old version. You lose the item and dont get money from it if it crashes while you are selling.
If you had problems with our app, please contact our support team at [email protected] and thanks for the discussion. It was pleasure to argue with you. Obviously if someone needs special apologies we are willing to do so.
There are definite stability issues with this update. I usually encounter crashes while painting the pots, but sometimes while sculpting as well. But never during sales.
