Will Legendary Wars be a universal app when you do iPad support? If not, I really might not buy it at all unless it get extremely well-reviewed, even then, I think I'll wait for the retina update. Looking really great so far though, fantastic work.
As a note I am testing it on ipad and I like the way it looks. Yes native support would be great, but look at my screenshots to see how it looks on ipad, then decide.
yeah, I saw those already, thanks for posting those, but I hate the blurry mess. I've already read somewhere that they will be releasing an iPad version, so I'm clear on that, I just wanna know if it'll be a Universal Binary. Perhaps Liv games can go for an introductory price of (for example) $1.99 and then go up to $2.99 when the universal app hits alá Carcasonne.
I think the game is worth more. Honestly I would pay 3.99 or 4.99 for this. To my eyes, when I play, it is not very blurry actually.
Yeah, 4.99 is fine, as long as they provide a universal binary when the time comes. Having separate iPhone and iPad "HD" editions is anti-consumer in my opinion and I won't support it. I'm gonna stop my tirade now.
But there are lots of advantages for the publisher in producing two separate apps, especially in download size. I think you should blame Apple for not providing a way for publishers to sell both apps for one price. It's not really the developers' fault.
Thanks for the comments. We will be coming out with an Ipad HD update within a month of the release of the iphone game. As far as retina support, while it is do-able, it would bump the size of the game from 100 megs to 400 megs because of the amount of animation in the game. We are still planning on supporting retina but it will have to wait until the Ipad release. I know i am biased, but the game looks fantastic on iphone 4. The graphic style and animation make u forget its not high rez. We hired an experienced animator that worked on Smash Brothers, Jimmy Nuetron, g-force and other big hollywood productions.
The Game will not be more than $2.99. I don't think most people realize (that haven't played it) there is 7-20 hours of quality gameplay here.
That is true! I am still at level 5.5 thats is like level 45 and I have played for a week now. Su not full time, but surely something like 10 hours (when I exclude the time I needed to restart once) Do I read correctly this will eventually be universal??
Eventually we will make retina display for iphone 4. But we want to release the Ipad version first, then we will start the retina display conversion. Just to let u know the game was designed with Ipad in mind (Retina was not yet announced when we began development a year ago). You can see the level in detail difference you will see in the characters on Ipad and eventually retina display. When I say that we have a lot of animations i mean it!. Each character is made up of 60-100 frames of animation!
