Sidewinder, Since we are not using Skeletal animation we have to render each one on a different sprite sheet which takes lots of memory. That being said we are planning upgraded versions of each character when you level max them.
Thank you everyone for your suggestion - we are going to go with Gargoyle #2 - which happens to be my favorite too. We are going to do a weekly contest for itunes Gift Cards until the release of the game. This weekend we will be doing the Hero Naming contest where we will reveal almost all the heroes. Come back tomorrow for full details.
High res? will this game support high res graphics for iphone 4? Also, could you explain a little more about the game play mechanics?
Right now we are concentrating on straight iphone development, however once we release the HD version for IPAD - we should have be able to do an IPHONE 4 HD version as well. Its just not going to be out for the first update. The Gameplay is a mix of action, strategy and RPG but the whole game has an adventure feel to it because of the story and humor. At E3 people compared it to a mix of Plants Vs Zombies and Castle Crashers. The basic setup is that you create miners to mine different Gems which are used to create units, Recruit new ones as the story progresses, Upgrade and unlock skills and magic. Once you create a unit you can take direct control of each one on the battlefield similar to an action game. You can tell it where to go, attack, defend, and use specials and magic. The goal is as you progress through different levels you recruit and level up your army and crate battalions. By the end of the game you will command armies with dozens of units each with different magic and skills. We have a very intuitive group control mechanism that allows you to select multiple units. There are different bosses and mini bosses that provide a fun challenge. There is also a Day and Night system where you have to balance Defending, Attacking, Positioning and Resource management. It's a simple concept with lots of depth, and to my knowledge no other game has combined arcade action and strategy this way. Our goal is to throw a new concept in every level to keep the gameplay fun, unique and fresh. We are much like users on this board, we are gamers that got together to make an iphone game without previous development experience.

The artstyle reminds me of The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition, which is fabulous. The animations also look great
1. Miney - I'd leave this, cause by the description before, it sounds like a simple resource character, and the name has that 'ancillary' feel to it 5. Horse Knighty - Not sure without seeing him yet 8. Phoenix - Same as #5, but I would shy away from 'fire-y' names The others I am still sort of mulling over.
Thanks to Everyone for the input on the Gargoyle we selected the character you recommended- next up is our Undead Warrior character. Yes - it resembles a zombie which is why we wanted to stay away from Grey. We currently have him as a teal color in the trailer but wanted your input on what the final color should be: 'Undeady' color choices: And remember keep those Hero names coming - we have plenty of more itune giftcards to give away.
1.The Angry Miner 2.The Blue Knight 3.Evil Elf 4.The Devious Dwarf 5.Horrendous Horseman 6.Stone Monster 7.The Crazy Wizard 8.Pheonix How are those. I hope I win, I need a card
I like the brighter green of #3, but it matches the bright green blood in the video too well so I am picking #2. It's still green but will contrast with the blood. Hero name ideas: 1. Gopher - go fer this, go fer that 2. Knox the Knight 3. Delph the Elf or Fletch 4. Grinder 5. The "insert his artwork color here" Knight - as in the "The Black Knight" 6. Crash or Crunch or Thud for the rock golem 7. Timothy - distant cousin of Tim the wizard 8. Cinder
