haha no i meant like google is going to make a translate language Na'vi and that woule be fail, ahaha nahhhh. you could do it
ta'li qwuct ul psay'a. Yes that actually says something, no you will never figure it out and no it isn't Na'vi. The Na'vi only have about 1000 vocab words with fragmented grammar. While the notion of 'becoming as popular as Klingon' is noble, I think this professor is a major douchebag of epic proportions. There are numerous endangered languages in the world and he could have picked any one of them to construct his pseudo language. However, he decided to make one from scratch. I like Avatar, and I enjoyed listening to the Na'vi speak because it sounds very similar to nselxcin and numerous other languages.
I saw you talking about it on twitter, I shall join you in your quest for the language of the smurfs!!!
Don't hate. Na'vi is a very smooth and well written language. Granted it's small, Frommer is expanding it. It is more pleasing to the memikyun than Klingon.
That isn't even the point. Avatar is essentially about preservation and understanding of culture with respect to beliefs and ancient heritage. I find it rather ironic that they have no less than 10 endangered languages at their disposal (according to National Geographic). Yet Frommer and Cameron decided to make up a language that has neither a rich heritage nor culture behind it. They stole the ideals from the American Indians, without due respect.
