ok, just played through the lite i won in the competition. All i can say is this game does not dissapoint! Retro gaming goodness at its very best! great controls, graphics are spot on! the gameplay is perfect, small intense bite-sized levels which are perfect for the platform. Music also perfectly pitched! I really cannot wait for Feb 3rd to arrive! Great job Devs!
+1! I also won the lite through Twitter and just like Solipskier, this game is WAY better than the Flash version, perfect for touch screen devices! I hope the full version keeps adding more levels regularly because everyone's gonna be wanting more. If you love retro gaming or just like a fun, challenging tongue-in-cheek game (with pixelized gore, even!), this is the game you've been waiting for! It's the game you didn't even know you wanted...BUT NOW YOU DO.
Whoa! I played the free online version of this game, and I must say, if the iOS version is anything like the online version, this game is going to be one of my favorite platformers!!
We feel and have heard that the controls are MUCH better then the keyboard controls! You're in for a treat in 11 days!! We LOVE hearing this. Which era? We've heard people saying it reminded them of their Amiga days
ahhhhhhhhhhhhh i want to try this game!!!!!!!! (and yes i have played the online version but i am wondering how it will transfer to the idevice)
ok so i won the contest and tried the lite version......let me just say that this game is great.....the controls work well and are very responsive my one comment: i had this problem with the online version and i see it again on the ipod version......when you are doing a wall jump....it would be better if the guy stayed for a little bit before sliding........and also it is hard to wall jump back and forth i specific areas.......either level 3, 4, or 5 on the online version was hard because it required side to side wall jumps in a certain space......i feel like wall jumping could be made easier other than that i think this game is well done, and from the online version it seems to pose a challenge i think that this could be the "mario" of the ipod touch, because so far there hasnt been any real good retro platformers i was also wondering if there are any plans to add more worlds? (not that it needs it, but i think it would be nice for a future update) overall this game is very well made and at an intro price of .99 this should be a no brainer for everyone. My only fear is that a gameloft of EA game would release on the same day and this would be overshadowed like hook worlds. However i think this game is good enough and at a good enough price that it will be able to stand on its own against other released games
We're glad you enjoyed it. Yes we plan on releasing more worlds. We're going to add in a new chapter in the first update and that leads us into future updates having chapters full of levels. Here is a teaser of the new chapter select that will be added in the first update!
Saw the review on Touchgen and thought it was out already! D'oh! But the game looks fantastic! First day purchase for me for sure!
Awesome! TouchGen gave us a nice review, so did Destructoid! Glad to you are looking forward to the release.....5 days left!
I can't wait to review this or until it comes out! Everyone's going to love it! And I'm super stoked about the steady stream of updates! I need to play new levels to satisfy my hunger!
First update includes about 25 new levels, artwork for the new levels, 3 new enemies/hazards, new music track and of course the chapter select from one of the earlier posts.
