Ok, so once through all 55 evolututions of the gem, that's when the game ends. That makes sense... I wish there was some way the game would let you know what gem you are on, even if it was just in the pause screen. Those other modes sound like a lot of fun. Blitz specifically. 60 seconds may be too short. Please test 120 seconds as well. I think it would allow for a wider margin in the overall high scores. As for the other modes getting in the way, why not give them as a reward (besides the certificate, which I did get) for collecting all the gems in the two main modes (or maybe for breaking 100K points? That would push me to want to play the classic mode more since the experience is kind of empty after collecting all the gems.
I'm looking for a good way to present current gem and its progression with no result yet. I tried displaying current and future gems in-game, but it's too crowdy. Displaying in pause menu avoid crowdity but it seems leas coherent. Maybe I'll display just the numbers like 32/55. I'll make sure the blitz mode provides wide margins in scores. But its length will be probably less than 120 seconds. It's a mind-intensive mode so people seem to have hard time keeping concentration for longer than a minute. The unlock condition of extra modes will be the number of unlocked jewels. I do not want to stress users over scores in a supposed to be rather relaxing mode Users can compete for high scores in other modes. However, what rewards can I give to players after they unlocked all gems? Currently, there are stars. I may create more achievements for breaking 100k+ points. I have more candidates but I would like to know what others think
That would be perfect. Keep it simple, small, and shove it in a corner out of the way. And before you get the 55 gems you could change the 55 to however many gems they have unlocked. For instance if you've unlocked to 40 gems maybe it would say something like 32/40. Then on the gems screen put 40/55 in a corner somewhere so it's clear how many are unlocked and how many are left. I was surprised when I got the last gem in Family mode since I thought the last line would be a full 4 gems and had no way to know otherwise. As for high scores to unlock modes, that was just an idea. Really I'm finding the 200K mark fairly impossible at the moment with family mode for that achievement. So maybe consider lowering the bar for some of the score based achievements, or add more variety there. I'm going to wait on whatever update happens with the game before playing it anymore. I think you are close to having a pretty exceptional match-3 game.
Okay, I'm working on new features one by one. Displaying progression by numbers will be coupled with appropriate tutorials. Adjusting scores for family mode achievements may happen as people seems to have hard time earning the gold achievement. Anyway, thanks for all your input, nightc1!
