Sorry but I am with syntheticvoid, I had a perfectly working PAID game and now useless with frickin ADS!! You tell him to take it easy, how about you jsut fix the issue with the paid customers! So YOU need to take it easy and work on ID's PR, I am disgusted with what you guys have done and will no longer support this company, SHODDY practices and who knows when Jelly Defense will be bombarded with iADS!
Updated version of Shoot the Birds with iAds removed will be released soon. We do not plan to implement ads inside Jelly Defense. We apologize for all inconveniences.
@riceman360: you may be interested in this post, I've sent earlier today: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showpost.php?p=1966926&postcount=69 In addition I can say that kids were a part of our "test group" dring the development and their impressions were taken into careful consideration while deciding on the final balance of the game. But don't let the toon-ish setting fool you, the adults seem to be digging it as much as kids ; ) As for our target audience - it turns out that hardcore players are not the majority of all people enjoying the game. With our current difficulty setting, the game is still fun to mothers, kids, students, etc. We really wouldn't want to take that fun away from them simply by making the game easier. Of course, you might say that if we added difficulty setting it would be the player's choice on which one he/she wants to play the game. But many players would choose the easy mode pretty quickly, and miss the satisfaction of mastering the level after numerous tries. It's our responsibility, as the developers, to maximize that satisfaction. And it doesn't always have to be the easiness of playing through subsequent levels, but perhaps that feeling you get from long awaited victory. I realize we're walking a thin line between satisfaction and frustration here, but we're doing it consciously. We don't want to compromise that, unless there's absolutely no other way for players to enjoy the game. Best regards, Peter.
Anyone saying this has not reached the last few levels, which is the problem: it's not well tuned, and not addressing that aspect while giving people the option to choose an easier method after they fail the poorly tuned last few levels is, at best a kludge. The first several levels are indeed quite easy, but then you hit ones where the only way to get past them is to engage in the sort of selling and rebuilding tricks that 4Towers has. Only that game has an interface that actually works for this tactic, JD has a positively awful interface for this tactic and so even if you think you've figured it out, good luck actually pulling it off. I've played a lot of TD games, JD is not a good one at all, which is a shame because the look and creep style is fantastic, but the game itself is poor at best.
I did reach all the levels in JellyD. if You dont mind.and I did play most of TD in app store thank you very much.and I still think is one of the best here. Thats obviously my private opinion.
I agree 100%. Make the coins and power ups be collected automatically (or have this as a selectable option), fix the difficulty progression, make the difficulty level selectable from the start (and don't punish people for completing the game on normal difficulty by locking all the levels), and improve the UI (for example, by allowing a single tap to select a tower, rather than having to hold your finger on the tower for a while. Also when building a tower, being able to tap the tower type then tap the spot to build it rather than having to drag the tower would be a good option (and keep the tower type selected so you can build multiple towers at once). Keep the drag option too though). Then you would have a much better game.
A wonderful game, but only one little question. I have finish all level with gold stars and no gem was missing, but the game progress is 94.7%, not 100% , what should I do to complete it?
@nnjuboss: There seems to be some bug with it, since you're not the first person to report this. We'll look into this first thing on monday. Can you tell me if your game version is the latest available in the AppStore? I checked it all the way through on the newest version and numbers seem to be fine, and I'm able to see the ending. Like I said, we'll take care of it as soon as possible.
Crashes since update Hi, I have noticed that sine the most recent update JD seems to crash a lot. I've rebooted my device (iPad 1 with IOS5) and will see if that helps but just wanted to give you a heads up. Never had this game crash before.
When we were into J2ME games we dreamt about building games like Infinite Dreams and now we dream the same on iPhones. ID, you dot a good team...
Version 1.07 of Jelly Defense is available for download from the AppStore. We've fixed a bug with Game Center achievements and made some minor adjustments to gameplay balance. Please update your apps. Best regards, Peter.
The soundtrack of this game is so catchy, especially the "nianianianiania" part. But why is the file size so enormous? This game takes up more space than Warm Gun!
Good news to everyone enjoying the music in Jelly Defense - we've released an album containing remastered and remixed tracks from the game. Jelly Defense Soundtrack Please enjoy them, and don't hesitate to tell us what you think about the new versions. Best regards, Peter.
