Ok, I've noticed this a number of times now, to be honest I don't remember if it was different before. I suspect it's a kind of bug, or maybe I'm doing something wrong.

    Here's the scenario:

1- I download some new apps in iTunes in a few days time frame (free calendar ones, some new purchases and so on)
2 - I sync my iPhone - if I don't want all the new stuff to be installed at this moment (i.e. I'd like to try some of them later) I deselect some of the new apps. They are correctly no longer shown in the preview window on the right.
3 - I hit the sync button: ALL the new stuff (including unselected apps) is installed on my device.

It's not a big deal - I just have to deselect them, and sync again - this time they are correctly removed. I find it quite annoying though. Anyone else is experiencing this?

I've found that some of the little check boxes under the apps column in iTunes needed to be unchecked before syncing. Not sure why but they will check themselves and then d/l'ed to my device w/o my knowledge. I will view them now prior to dl/ing to be sure any unwanted games aren't installed onto my device.

Edit: reread your post (read quickly the first time) and yea, that's happened to me but (again) I'd have to do what I've already mentioned and what you've posted. Annoying but that's the only way I've been able rectify the situation. iTunes is a pain on a non-mac pc. Can't even use the forward/back buttons to view games.

I had this happen with podcasts and movies, not just apps. I have nothing checked in iTunes that would randomly sync things to my iPod. Sometimes iTunes likes to remove items from my iPod during sync. I'm sure Apple does this on purpose so I go buy a mac. Conspiracy, I tell ya!
