I couldn't tell you. I have the game, I'm just waiting to finish up the first Rolando to beat... haha
Here's the thing about the Rolandos. Half the people love them and everyone else can't understand why Rolando is so hyped and either hate it or just consider the game average. Doom is really good. Most people agree with that. If I were you I'd go with Doom, especially if you're looking for an action game. But then again you might fall into the "I love Rolando" crowd so Doom is just my personal suggestion.
If you want to use your brain, go with Rolando 2. If you want to have the game drag you along through the depths of hell, and with a pretty interesting story, get Doom.
Personally, I've never been a fan of the Rolando series. You can get much better games for $9.99 (and less), like Ranch Rush, Sally's Spa, NFS, Minigore, and Gangstar just to name a few. But then again, you just can't beat the depth and build quality of Rolando. It's not that Rolando is bad or anything, it's just not for me, so if you're into that type of game, then sure it's worth it, but for me no. And also, I just don't see it dropping in price until some other game comes along (*cough* Rolando 3 *cough*) rofl.
I see the quality of the Rolando series as well. But like the guy in the last post said..."its just not for me." Thats how I and alot of others feel about it for our own reasons. I think Rolando would have been better on the bigscreen (console, tv). All this zooming in and out on the iphone to see all the scenery and what to do next is kind of a turn off for me.
Well, I love Rolando 1, I have it. But I heard people saying that Rolando 2 is somewhat dissappointing and not worth the current price due to the short game. And I love doom games, played every single one lol.
well if you loved Rolando 1 then Rolando 2 is at least the same or better when it comes to quality. It's not that Rolando 2 isn't worth the $10 when it comes to quality, it's just that I can easily think of 5-10 $1-2 games that I would rather get instead with the money...and have a better time with. So when you compare what other good games you can get in the appstore for $10, it might be wise to wait for a price drop on Rolando 2. That is unless you have over $20 credit in your account, then you can afford to take a chance on it without having to miss out on other games. My suggestion is to watch videos of Rolando 2 before you buy, there must be plenty on youtube.
