@CRAYTATO: Yikes! Copy that. I will have to reconstitute, then return. Can't explain with words so I'll use this. Pretty much sums up my day(s).
Hey devs. I have a few questions, why does udauses armor suck so bad? Even compared to the starting armor it's -500..? Haha is that a typo or something? I'm pretty sure there is only one armor that is just as good as the starting equipment?
iPad 2 ? So far I am not able to run this game on my iPad 2. Ist crashes after trying to enter the first battle. I run the latest version of iOS 8. Reinstalled it and rebooted the iPad. Any ideas how to get this going ?
I think the first game with iaps (as far as I can recall) was a multiplayer-shooter that used, IIRC, the Plus network. What was it called...Elimination? Someone help a brother out
I was wondering why the new armor I forged was so much worse than my starting armor, too. I reinforced my first piece to about 850 defense. The forged equipment +5 was only 350!!! So I'm still in a loincloth.
Thats exactly how Demon Souls works (I haven't played the Dark Souls series; but they are essentially sequels).
In an ideal situation, you're optimising your defences for the elements the enemies will be using. The starting set has high physical armor, but low elemental defence. On the flip side, the elemental weapons deal between 40 and 50% of their total power as physical damage. Meaning that even in PvE enemies that deal 60% Flame or Dark damage will cut through you, because the starting Ranger's set gives -17% and -23% resistance to Flame and dark respectively. The starting set has to be good for something so it has better physical defence, since it's going to be a loooooong while before you complete the other sets.
So are the weaknesses, though. Doesn't seem like a good balance to me. But maybe I'm wrong. Edit: I guess I'm supposed to be looking at the enemies' elements before I enter the stage? Bah...
No need for the harshness, especially when you're not paying attention to the game you're playing. Online is required for Boons and Cursed, it isn't a completely single-player game. Seriously, go read the descriptions in the App Store before making overly-whiny and potentially insulting criticism.
Yeah, you'll notice that at the start of every quest their is a recommended armour set and weapon. The elemental bonuses on these will make you much more resilient than the basic armour when fighting the particular enemies in that quest. You can also get more detail info by tapping the enemies in the quest window (which you seem to have realised).
Quick question. The only thing I'm struggling to figure out is the use for 'Faith'. I see how to use gold, gems and bone shards, but what is Faith used for?
I think boons are basically 'ghosts'. It's your character (with the armour and weapons you have equipped) but it is AI controlled when summoned into someone's game (and likewise, when you use a boon it is another players character with the items they have equipped at their last save). The cost for you when you summon them at the shield shrine is 2 bone shards (like the totems at the start of the quest area that give you a stat boost, they cost 1 bone shard). Theoretically you'd run out of bones shards at some point if you just use the boons and stat boosts on every quest. I suppose the idea is that you save your bone shards and use them on difficult quests.
Ah crap. I've been using both whenever given the option, because I didn't know there was any cost. Where does it say there's a cost? The game should prompt you before taking stuff! Sigh.
Also, I keep finding myself trying to use my guns the way it works in Implosion -- dragging the attack button in the direction I want to shoot. Then I'm disappointed when it doesn't work that way.
I haven't found any use for it other than the PvP rank. On the "interact" button itself. I missed it at first too.
Haha. It's on the button that you press. Look at it a bit closer and you'll see the bone shard icon and a number (cost value) on the button. Also, when you approach either the totem or the shield your total bone shards in your inventory will display in the top right corner (I think). It's a contextual display that only happens when you approach an interactive object that requires bone shards.
