hi, i am looking for anyone with this type of expirence, and/or help with the topic. I have had an ipod touch 2nd gen 16gb and recently for christmas got a 32gb 3rd gen model. Recently the screen started to come apart from the crome back around the rubber ring, and was raised about 1 mm. The ipod had never been dropped and while it did not hinder its use the looseness of the screen could be felt and made a clicking noise simmiler to that of pressing the home button. After much haggleing with apple it was replaced, and I have had the replacement for less than a month and the problem while nowhere near as severe is begining again on the right bottom corner, it is not raised but loose when i press down i can feel it move. My question, is this normal it has not been droped or misshandled it is my most prized item. Has anyone else had this issue if so what did you do, or what can you suggest. The rubber ring looks somewhat distorted or out of place in the area in question. I don't think appple will replace it again even though my warrenty is good until dec. They have already sent me one replacement. If this is not normal is there anything I can do, or is there any cheep reliable/certified repair people that can be recomended, please someone help!!!!!
sorry for the poor grammer Sorry that my puncutaion and grammer was non existient in the post. I was in a hurry to go somewhere, and typing is not a second language of mine. Nor is it even a 3rd, 4th, 5th, or 10th for that matter. I have a sophisticated method of hunting and pecking the keys, and in a rush periods, commas, and even the shift key get forgotten. If you could please read again and offer some advice I would forever be grateful. And to anyone else that could not decipher my chicken scratch please help out a fellow gamer. Thanks louhemp007
I don't think it's normal, too. I've had my 3GS for almost a year and haven't seen such a problem -- actually, I've owned all of the iPhones over the years and two iPod Touch models and never experienced that problem. It's definitely not normal; actually, the HTC Evo is having the same problem apparently, with bonus LED backlight leakage. Were it me I'd be trying to get another replacement from Apple if it's still under warranty. Any attempts to fix it yourself would void that warranty, so that would be my first stop. Call AppleCare and see what they have to say. It might even be a known issue by now that they could be addressing. Can't hurt to check.
